"Nashville Birth and Babies was extremely helpful throughout my breastfeeding experience. When I initially reached out to them in my overwhelmed state they made me feel so valued. In the newborn fog, I was emailing them way too late at night and I received pretty immediate feedback. I worked with Leah over the course of a few months, but my first visit was with Bess. Both women made me feel understood and were EXTREMELY encouraging. They communicated promptly via email and thoroughly during in person visits. I learned so much from both of them. I can not recommend Nashville Birth and Babies enough."
"The wonderful and kind Bess Greevy at Nashville Birth & Babies was my board certified lactation consultant. She provided 4 at-home visits for me and my baby boy, and the experience was great. Each time, she had a good structure to the appointments including weighing the baby and listening carefully to what was going on with breastfeeding from my perspective. She always addressed what I wanted to work on specifically, and she left plenty of time to answer all of my questions. She had asked me upfront what my goals for my nursing relationship with my child were, and she pushed me in that direction but not too hard. She was more than understanding (and so kind) when progress to my goal (exclusively BF) wasn't going as quickly as I'd hoped. But she still reminded me that she wanted to help me achieve the goal if that's what I still wanted. It was the perfect balance of motivating and empathetic. She is wonderful with babies, and I always felt so comfortable having her hold my newborn boy, weigh him, and show me exercises he could do to work on oral motor development. It was like handing him to my mom or aunt - someone I trust. Lastly, the thing that meant so much to me was that Bess provided positive feedback to me, a postpartum mom who can be hard on herself (can't we all?), when it felt like I needed it most. She would say things like "Great job feeding that baby!" and, honestly, that felt so good to hear. Even if things weren't going perfectly, she made me feel good about what I *was* doing, rather than making me feel bad about what I hadn't achieved yet. I loved having Bess visit my home and would highly recommend her as a lactation consultant to any new mom."
"Kate helped us tremendously. I was in horrible pain and she helped us figure out my son's tongue tie. She also recommended great therapists to help my son learn to use his tongue correctly after the revision. I almost quit breastfeeding but that's to Kate I stuck with it and we're now successfully breastfeeding pain free! I'm so grateful!"
"Kate has given me the most encouraging, knowledgable, and compassionate care with our sweet baby. She was tongue and lip tied and Kate helped us coordinate all her care and get her nursing well, she's always given me lots of resources and stays up to date on new methods and research which has been so helpful. When our baby wouldn't take a bottle, Kate gave me multiple methods and different bottle nipples to try and also spent time working with her personally just so we could bottle feed her before I started back at work. Her help and knowledge has been invaluable to me!"
"I have seen Kate Cropp, IBCLC, for breastfeeding help with all three of my children. I can, without a doubt, say that Kate, and by extension her associates, is the best lactation consultant in Middle Tennessee. I have recommended her to anyone who has needed breastfeeding help. Seriously, she’s the best! I have also taken Kate’s Hypnobabies class and would recommend it to anyone looking for a natural childbirth experience."
