"They have started having double patient rooms and there is no room for two people. What about hippa? Where are my patient rights? This is absolutely the most outrageous thing I’ve ever heard and had to deal with here. Would have given a better review had they not started this practice. The doctors and nurses here are great but the upper management are complete idiots. I stress my concerns about hippa. I don’t want someone talking about my medical history, reason for admittance, or my medication in a room with someone I don’t know. They even kicked me out of my room to give the other patient privacy even with a privacy screen. I am sick and admitted to the hospital, have to have a roommate, and then they kick me out of my room. Are we serious?"

"My dad passed this week after a 2 week stay at Vanderbilt Medical Center. I wanted to thank the team who took such great care of him. Your staff took such extraordinary care of him in spite of very desperate circumstances. Your honesty and compassion. Was top notch and I will be forever grateful the way your staff really cared about him at the end of his life."

"This is hands-down the most incompetent medical billing department I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I had surgery in 2022 that should have been 100% covered by my insurance. It took me months of back and forth with Vanderbilt to finally get them to enter the correct coding for my surgery so that I would have no personal responsibility for payment. Then a year later in 2023, I got a random billing statement on a Friday night (after hours) from Vanderbilt showing I now owe thousands of dollars for that same surgery. They never attempted to contact me whatsoever to speak with me or discuss any changes that occurred. Just sent a random invoice and went about their merry way. I had just lost my job, so I couldn't even afford it if I wanted to. I applied for financial assistance and was only given 80% coverage. I appealed the decision and was finally given 100% financial assistance for my bill. I was told that I was finally free and could officially forget about this, over a year later. Well, that was a lie. Because just now, 2 months after being approved for that financial assistance, I just got yet another billing statement from good ol' Vanderbilt Billing stating "Your balance is seriously past due. Please submit a payment immediately to avoid collections or contact customer service to make payment arrangements." It's for the exact same amount that I just had "handled." And of course they sent that notice at 10pm on a Thursday so I can't even speak with anyone on the phone (or email) until tomorrow at the earliest. They're conveniently closed over the weekend, and always conveniently send these notices after hours. Saying I'm furious is an understatement. All of the phone calls emails, messages that I've had to send over the past 2 years have been a nightmare and for nothing. They don't listen. Go to another provider, because Vanderbilt will make your life miserable for years and years and years."

"Absolutely horrible experience with the ER and trauma unit. Nurses and staff were rude and acted like they couldn’t care less about any of the patients. They seemed to worry more about gossiping and playing on their phones. For two full days they had our family member under a fake name without ever getting his real name into the system. Then that caused a confusion with the pharmacy upon discharge after surgery. (Tell me how that’s legal.) Two full days and he was never placed in a normal room. Spent approximately 5 hours in the hallway on a gurney along with who knows how many other patients because he was (the most stable.) Things got slightly better when he went up for surgery. Nurses actually seemed to have empathy and cared there. Still 0/10 would never recommend. Go somewhere else people."

"I never thought I would be able to share data like this in this lifetime. Thanks to my faith, commitment, dedication, discipline, Elite Vanderbilt Team and Earth Shattering Modern Medicine. I complete a legit medicine can’t explain 119.68 miles not km in 4:28:09. Videos are in order from each passing hour. Fear not, I had plenty of drinks and snacks to fuel my effort. I had to do this; living the life I never had as a youth. With all the advanced care received at Vanderbilt. I thank you all & have been thanking my treating physicians as I located them on google maps for review. The strength, endurance, mental capacity to cycle through lactate thresholds non stop. I watch myself for changes in my mental state or physical health while cycling at this intense effort. I’ve been blessed to be able to share these incredible feats of endurance.
