"I walked into Dry Bar without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate me, which was great on an extremely hot sunny day. They have comfortable hair washing stations, which was a nice touch. I didn't ask for anything sophisticated; I just needed to refresh my look before a meeting. However, I noticed that they are using pretty old dryers. As a result, my hair was over-dried and over-heated. The blowdry itself was good, but I felt that my scalp and hair were damaged by the hot air from the dryer. In an era of ionic dryers, I would be willing to pay more for a more delicate care option."
"I have had multiple experiences at the DryBar Irvine and usually they are all positive but today was by far the absolute worst. I came in and requested volume and curls. When my making appointment I requested a 15 scalp massage and glass sealant. The stylist had nails that were longer than some of my fingers and my hair got caught in the nails multiple times. Then my hair got caught in the blow dryer and it hurt. She took over an hour to blow dry my hair - I blame this on the hair getting caught in the nails and blow dryer. When checking the time I was well past an hour and I needed to go. I had no time for curls, which I really wanted. I also did not get my scalp massage and when bring this up to the receptionist she said that the stylist said I had. I had to leave to go to my event after 85mins in the chair. I paid $89.00 for flat, damaged hair. SO DISAPPOINTING."
"Very friendly and personable hair stylists, however most lack experience with African American hair. Basic straightening took over 75 mins, and it didn't last more than a few hours. Until they cater more to ethnic/curly hair, I would really only go back for the convenience of the wash and blow dry."
"The receptionist with short wavy hair was absolutely rude and had no respect to the clients schedule and time and changed my schedule without asking. But the stylist was absolutely wonderful. My hair looked amazing for the first hour but unfortunately all waved opened up after. Their hold spray isn’t effective."
"By now you all know the concept of these stores, so I'm not going into detail about that. The booking process is easy enough through their app, and after a short little wait, we were each taken through to have our hair washed and then had a great blowout done. The day we were there, the staff at the front were a teeny bit aloof and looked like they had a late night the night before, but overall, the service was good and the staff overall were friendly and professional. I will say I do think it's a teeny over priced, but when the job has been done right, I can keep my hair looking good for a few days, so that's a definite bonus. It's definitely a nice treat to come here, and I will be back either at this location or at others, to try a new style I can't do myself."
