Niko Nails

"I have never had such a horrible experience in my 8 years of being a loyal customer here. On Monday October 9 I had an appointment to get acrylics at 6 since I get off work at 5:15. I got there 5 mins early and the guy was still working on someone and didn't get started on me until almost 6:30 and there have been previous times where I got there in time for my scheduled appointment that didn't actually get started until at least 20 mins later so what's the point of making appointments if the time means nothing. Keep in mind they also close at 7. Everyone I get my nails done I use a picture and I am picky hence why I've been going to the same person for so long, they've always turned out amazing. It was an almond shape, medium length, ombré white to black tip and blood drips with red chrome. At first I asked if instead of just white he could mix a bit of the clear acrylic powder for a little more naturally look and he suggested a nude, which he has made suggestions for my nails before so I trusted him, but I didn't see until later that it was a glitter nude. Missing that was on me so I ignored it but I saw that he hadn't gotten a black powder so I asked to double check he was doing ombré he said yes later. When he goes to do it he grabs an airbrush and I have never seen ombre done with airbrush. He does a couple nails and shows me but I honestly didn't like it and he looked dumbfounded. I asked why he didn't do acrylic powder for the ombre and he said that I got them too short to do it but with the airbrush it was getting on my skin and the whole nail and made it look dirty if he tried to clean it up it wouldn't have looked ombre. If he had told me they were too short for the powder I would've gotten them longer to avoid the airbrush but like I said I've never seen anyone use it before. Also for the last 10 mins or so this other lady that works there is standing there staring at my nails being done and making me really uncomfortable. They were talking in their language the whole time until he's wiping the black off my nails and the only things I heard in English that he said to her was "she doesn't like them" and "picky". He goes to take my nails off and says you'll have to find someone else who can do your nails which I don't care that he took them off bc I wasn't going to pay for something I didn't like but I had been growing my nails since the last time I got acrylics and he even mentioned how long and strong they were. He was rushing the whole time at well but I mostly noticed when he was sanding the acrylics bc he was going fast around my cuticles and was scared that I was going to get nicked. I wasn't having a very good week with being sick, being on medication making me nauseous, having a long day at work and I was excited to get my nails done especially for spooky season but it just ended with me bawling my eyes out for the next half hour and while driving home. I've already found a new place to go that has done nails similar to what I want and I won't be coming back here again."

"I use to love Niko Nails.. but they stole money from me (they want debit/cash payment). I told the owner and they made excuses for their employees that stole from me and didn’t give me the correct change! Also, lied to me about the service saying that they could do the nails I wanted and I found myself having to correct the nail technician multiple times!"

"they have horrible customer service. i had made an appointment prior to coming and the older lady (not niko) looked at me like i was crazy lol. the energy was very “i guess we’ll do your nails” the place is not cleaned regularly. i’ve been here twice and the manicure stations are all dusty and the towel on my station had someone’s nail clipping. i had niko do my dip powder nails. niko left during the service without saying anything several times, for minutes at a time, with the last time she was gone almost 10 min. I was just waiting in the chair with dusty hands. when she came back she said “thank you for waiting” which is the first customer service i ever received since my arrival. she also cuts the cuticle too far up, she cut both of my thumbs and my right pinky. if she doesn’t get anything with the cuticle clipper she clips HARDER. there was blood all over the paper towel after i washed my hands and i asked her if she had anything for the bleeding. she was apologetic but she did not give any discount, which i would’ve appreciated, since three of my fingers were bleeding. i left the salon an hour ago and my thumbs and pinky still hurt. my nails look exactly how i want them, but at the cost of customer service, time, and some blood lol update: right index fingernail broke already, and the skin around the cuts are swollen and still hurting."

"I have my own nail place, but I don’t like the pedicures there so I tried this place since I just moved in the neighborhood, the first time I got a pedicure it wasn’t great but it’s convenient so I thought well maybe somebody’s having an off day so I’ll try again. I got another pedicure the other day it was just OK, I think $40 for a pedicure That is just OK it’s highway robbery, I guess it helps them out that their location is considered “Willow Glen”, it’s probably just worth me driving out of the way to get a really good pedicure for half the price, I go to the best nail shop in the area and I don’t even pay that for my nails.....Perfect 10 nails on Almaden expressway $33 to get my nails done, and they’re always perfect... by the way, how do you pay taxes and keep track when you guys only except cash, How are you OK with customers walking in and walking out because they don’t have cash and you’re OK with it."
