"Ok, so I am a frequent Marriott customer, as I travel often for work. The Moxy is not like any other hotel I have stayed at before and was pretty different. I guess this was a European chain and they stick to the EU style accommodations. Before I get into details, the room was nice and clean. The check in was a little odd, as you check in at the bar. Checking in while it is busy can have some wait times which I feel you wouldn’t have with a dedicated checkin desk. But the lady who checked us in was awesome! She gave us the whole run down of the area and hotel. She was friendly, gave me a free shot for my birthday, and really knew about Moxy as a whole brand. In the lobby/bar area, there are fusball tables (however it’s spelled), a pool table, shuffle board, large connect four, and a large Jenga set. So lots of fun little activities there. The room was nice and clean. But here is where the EU part come in. The rooms are small. Like a lot smaller than I am use to. No refrigerator or microwave and the air conditioner will not go any lower than 68 DEGREES!!! That one really baffled us, as they cannot unlock that or anything. We sleep with it cold, so was very off putting. However, the awesome lady at the front desk did get someone to bring us up a fan though since we needed something to keep us cool. The internet TV was a little weak as well. Only Netflix, so if you don’t have a Netflix account, it’s live tv for you. The other weird EU thing was that if you needed anymore toiletries, linens, towels or anything else, you grab it yourself from the communal locker area thing. I think this was actually nice because I could grab some toothpaste if I needed it and didn’t need to wait, but still was odd. Didn’t eat much here, other than having a walking taco. And wow! I did not expect to have a walking taco of that quality. It was delicious! Had some spice to it and amazing flavor. Parking was 30 dollars per day and they did not have valet. Very walkable to many good places to eat. Safe area, but it is right across from a club. Overall, this place was nice. Great location, clean rooms, but might not be for us in the future due to the AC and lack of kitchenette appliances. I think the service is what really made our stay enjoyable though. The ladies there were all so nice and helpful!"
"Looks great but terrible service, no coffee cups to go, no espresso machine working, no proper AC in rooms, noisy if you are traveling for work (clubs outside of the hotel) and they will come in your room to clean even when they see a clearly hanging DND sign on your door. Great location but terrible overall, they dont even try."
"Stacy at the MOXY (Vanderbilt location) is the absolute BEST. I accidentally booked a room at the Downtown Moxy, and actually needed a room at the Vanderbilt location. She was great in assisting with getting my reservation switched to this location. She treated me with the utmost respect. Her customer service is 5 STARS!!!"
"Really cool hotel in a nice part of Nashville. I like the steampunk vibe of the building, it makes the place unique. The lobby area is set up like as a bar with a good selection and tasty drinks. Their coffee is good too. Every employee I interacted with was very friendly and professional. There is a towel stash in the hallway if you need more towels before room service comes, which I haven't seen before. Lots of good food options within walking distance. I highly recommend the Pancake Pantry for breakfast. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable (if you like firmer mattresses like I do). I only knock it down a star because the bathroom and shower have frosted windows. They're not totally see-through but you can definitely tell what's going on in there. It's not the end of the world because they're not visible from the beds (at least not in the room I was in, but I believe they are visible in other rooms) but it's something to be aware of. Overall a nice stay and definitely a place I would come back to. P.S.: You get a free drink token when you check in, which is a nice touch."
"Very basic rooms with a steam punk industrial minimalist vibe. Serious flaws abound in these rooms. Window from bathroom to bedroom area. Yeah, it’s rippled glass but you can see the person on the toilet and know what they are doing. Very poor feature!! No dresser, no closet, RV size sink, corrugated metal ceiling with a barn light, end tables way too low to the bed and a toilet lid that does not fit the bowl. Ugh!!! Also super dark hallways and the lobby is just a big bar. On the up side the shower and tv are large, bed is comfy and the outside room deck/porch is nice."
