"I stayed at this place summer -23. It was the single most absurd hotels stay ever for our family. The person checking us in was 14 or 15. He asked us WHY we would book a hotel in such a dangerous location. He went on and on how this was a horrible neighborhood and actually scared my son. We asked about getting our money back (and later to change rooms), but he did not know how to assist with either. The pool was closed... because the manager (the boys father) Thought people made the pool dirty and it was better to leave it closed. The carpet was so dirty, we could not take our shoes of and when we went to bed we found a long black hair under the covers. We slept with our closes on! The next morning we left as early as we could. Came down to "breakfast" at 08:05 and the food, juice and café was already empty. We asked the young lady to get more food, but she "only worked there to check people out". the rest of the food was locked in and the manager (her father) had the key. He was home sleeping after the night shift, so he couldn't answer the phone. I do not recommend this place for anyone."
"There are places that are cheap and so you get what you pay for and then there is this place! The state of some of the cars outside the place, some of which looked abandoned, was the first alarm bell. The staff member on the desk was unfriendly and uninterested. The room itself looked clean but then you noticed all the damage, like handles missing, and dirt and rubbish left behind furniture. The bathroom was grubby, the shower unit was coming away from the wall, the bath tap dripped constantly and the floor was strangely sticky. We also were left a complimentary vest from a previous guest. The toilet also didnt flush properly by the end of our stay. When we checked in a woman came to reception to ask for a plunger, so there seems to be plumbing issues. But....the beds were comfortable! So far so good. Then the fun and games begin. It seems this place is also used as government housing as there seemed to be many longterm residents. Some rooms had doormats outside and guests were constantly walking the halls at all hours of the night. The exterior doors were unlocked so the whole place was unsecured (not that reception staff would have provided much security anyway). The first two nights the couple next door were arguing and screaming for hours. On the second night it was so bad the police showed up. After they left the fighting started again to the point where it sounded physical. When we alerted reception they were uninterested in doing anything and denied that the police had been there. The arguing lasted all night and meant we got no sleep. Oh and then there were the loud gunshots heard outside the building during the night! Finally, I can't rate the included breakfast because there were no signs of it on the first morning beyond a couple of discarded cereal boxes. We didn't bother after that. We went to IHOP next door. I'm sure some people have stayed here and it's been okay. The room itself is what you would expect for the price. But I think staying here you will definitely be risking getting a lot more for your money than you were expecting. Book at your own risk!"
"I have stayed there recently and let’s just say it is not A good place to stay especially if you have kids! They have me A room with sheets that had blood on them. A women knocked on my door to look for money she had there because she was in the room the day before so that told me they don’t clean thoroughly and doesn’t have good security. Please if you don’t have to, please choose somewhere else. The staff are very nonchalant to every issue. The staff didn’t want to give us any towels! I saw roaches in the bathroom. The refrigerator didn’t work properly! People riding bikes through the lobby! They don’t offer A personal microwave in the room. They advertise Queen sized beds and give you a full. Please be careful if you have to go to this place!"
"I have not stayed in this hotel but I delivered food there today. Let me just say the pictures on the website do not match what is actually in person. The hotel past the lobby is dirty and outdated. It says “smoke free” but when I went up to the 5th level to drop off my customers food. It smelled of cigarette smoke and weed. The carpets were filthy and the elevator was as well. I can see why the rooms are cheap compared to other hotels. Also, the way that the front desk personnel was not professional at all. I’m from Memphis and I would not recommend staying here or even in this part of town."
"My husband and I were in town for a three day, two night dance event that started off on a bad note. Until we got to Sleep Inn and Suites. We booked a stay at another hotel that ended up being overbooked, leaving us with nowhere to stay. The booking company sent us to a second hotel that appeared to be ok and the desk clerk was very friendly but the room was awful. That's where Sleep Inn and Suites came in. We called to confirm availability, and upon arrival, we immediately felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted by the owner/manager with a smile and an upbeat, professional manner. Because of issues from earlier that night, we asked to see the room and management had no problem with our request. The Inn was part of Choice Privelages. Because of that, I was allowed to book the room through Choice. Therefore, the room rate was lower than the walk-in rate and accepted. Upon returning to the hotel from the last night of the event, the owner/manager was visiting with another guest. We were complimented by both individuals. We asked if he could take a picture of us, and he happily obliged our request and took several photos. The Inn offered breakfast, but we slept late and can't comment on that service. Check out was quick, and we were on our way. Even though"
