"Mori Izakaya is just on another level compared to many izakayas in orange county. Serves real Japanese food and you don’t feel like you are just in another happy hour Japanese restaurant. This is going to be my new go to spot. TJ and Hannah, thank you guys for making my family’s experience for the night. I will definitely be back!!!"

"Mori Izakaya has a great menu. They have monkfish liver (mmm, the foie gras of the sea!) And Katsudon. Their yakitori are great; lots of selections and nicely cooked! My hubby was happy because they had pork belly and chicken hearts! Service was kind and friendly. Atmosphere is nice; lots of beautiful wood creates a light, airy vibe...plus they're playing Jpop! Pricing is reasonable too. Highly recommend; we're locals and will be back!"

"Decent food and ok selection of alcohol. Would be better if sake and shochu selection was better. Since they have an alcohol licence they should focus on that and offer Japanese liquor more...."

"First time coming to this place, and I have to say it was worth coming here. There weren't that many customers, although it started to pick up a little. The food was spectacular, and the service was great. I have to say the interior looks really beautiful and peaceful at the same time. Gotta give this place a shot if you're coming down here. Food will fill you up even though the menu can he small."

Overall we liked the food, there were just some wrinkles around the service that needed to be ironed out: Be up front about portions - everything is on the small side, and the price reflects that so it's not a knock against the restaurant, but it'd be nice if we're warned beforehand (such as each skewer order is for a single skewer) so we'd order bigger portions at the start."
