"We were very unhappy with the service department at Subaru Riverside on our last visit there. We drove 90 miles each way since we bought our car there in 2020 and always had a good experience with them. We had an appointment for a Saturday at 10:30 am for a 17,000 mile service. We also asked the advisor to change the cabin filter. We waited two hours and no follow up or report was given to us during this time. After about two hours we asked them for an update. Someone told us that the car would be ready in 20 minutes. When 3 hours had passed, they gave us the key and said they wouldn’t charge us because of the long wait. We didn’t receive any paperwork as to what services had been done with our car. Later, we found out they hadn’t even replaced the cabin filter. We wasted more than 6 hours not including the 3 hours we waited in the waiting room for a job that should take less than one hour. No communication, follow up or texts were sent to us. We tried five or six times to reach the service department manger, Mr. Clay. We sent the manager an email and even called his number directly leaving a voice massage, yet still no response. Really disappointed and hope they don’t do this to anyone else."
"I was lured there to buy a car and the very 1st thing I was told was that I had to choke up $4000 over sticker or there was no point in talking. I spent a career in automotive and I can tell you this place operates like a crooked dealer in the 1960s with their rudeness and deceptive practices."
"The service is not reliable . Please do not take your car here . If my daughter had read the reviews we would have taken the car else where . Please read her nightmare. : Took my car here last Wednesday at 8am for a diagnosis because my check engine light came on. I waited till 1pm because I haven’t received a call to know the status of my vehicle, so I called and Alfredo said I needed my spark plugs replaced and a couple other things equaling to $1700 I told them to go ahead and do the spark plugs I heard nothing about my car being ready up until 6pm when they closed and I had called them multiple times with no answer. When they called Alfredo said my car would be ready the same day. Then 30mins later Julio called me and said there was a problem with the spark plugs they have there and I needed to wait for tomorrows shipment. Thursday comes and supposedly they did all the work that my car needed including and the spark plugs were replaced. Once we went over the receipt I noticed they did not do the alignment that Julio stated I needed, my father asked Alfredo about it and said I needed all new tires and an alignment would be useless. So we go ahead and double check with Julio after and he checked the computer to see and he says I still just needed an alignment and my tires were fine, but he said he would double check with us and email us.Since that day we did not get a call or email about the alignment.A couple days later I noticed my car was still shaking as I stated when I had brought it in and my check engine light came on again.My father took my car back to the service center and went back and forth with them to find out I needed a valve adjustment, they gave him a discounted quote of $1700 from $5k and it would take 2 days to fix.They had my vehicle for 2 days without any service being done and no calls from the service advisor Julio and manager Alfredo to get an update."
"The staff at the service department were friendly and extremely helpful. The great experience starts right when you drive in. A machine takes pictures of your tires and calculates, real time, if the tread and alignment are still at safe levels. The employee I was working with even took me back to the garage to show me exactly what was wrong with my car. The brand-new waiting area was great, as well. Free wifi, nice seating, and plenty of space to "socially distance" from other customers. I had a great experience buying a car from them a few months ago and I'm equally impressed with the service department."
