"A favorite of mine for decades, The Bagelry is both affordable and convenient, and has good vegan options. Not only vegan cream cheese and hummus, but various tofu based spreads as well (my favorite of which is probably New Delhi: curried tofu w/ cashews, raisins, and apple). They also have great deals on day old bagels, including quite a selection if you get there early. In fact, I often pick up a couple bags of day old bagels and a pint of hummus for the week (their house made hummus is so good!)."
"I love the bagels here. I always get the pink flemingo on a toasted everything bagels . I recommend this place"
"Ive been coming to this location since the early 90’s. Always order the same bagel. Onion not toasted with cream cheese/guacamole. Love the cookies! Bagels are on the firmer side but thats why I love them. The customer service at Seabright has been cold, not friendly and makes me feel unwelcome. Its sad, because I love the bagels. This is from my own experience. I do notice the change in behavior towards the customers before and after me. They recieved a smile and a pleasant experience. I dont know why I tipped. Hope the tip goes to the person that made the bagel not the older mannat the register. The staff is much more welcoming and friendly at the downtown location."
"Eh. It is what it is. The bagels are pretty good. Good variety. I've been eating here for decades and weirdly, they have NEVER had friendly staff here. No matter when you go in the past 20+ years, the person behind the counter will always seem mildly annoyed and somewhat surprised that you're asking for their help. It's obviously not a priority for them to make eye contact or say hello, even if it's not busy. Also, no matter how dead the place is, no one EVER cleans the tables here so of course they are ALWAYS FILTHY. 9 empty tables covered in bagel crumbs and chai, NO ONE in the restaurant, and 6 staff people gossiping behind the counter. I mean hey I know it's not a gourmet restaurant, but no one can EVER grab a towel and just take 3 minutes to wipe these off every couple hours? Apparently not. I mean, it's a Santa Cruz institution and obviously they know that they don't have to try very hard, and that's reflected in the staff and environment. But for a quick bagel and chai, you don't necessarily except French Laundry style ambience."
"Bagelry Seabright location has been my most visited location over the years. It is centrally located and was usually on the way to a workplace and easy to stop by. You can get coffee, tea, bagels, and plenty of other assorted beverages. The Garlic bagel is toasted with half cheese Louise, which is a garlic herb cream cheese, and the other half is tomato herb, which is just amazing. The scrambagels are delicious, too! They have eggs and cheese, and you can add whatever you like. Local art is hanging on the wall for sale. Cute spot but small. If you want to eat here, you may have to wait."
