"It's time for BBQ lovers to unite in Lemon Grove, California! Recently opened, The Barn House BBQ is preparing REAL smoked BBQ. Chef Alberto and Chef Giovanni have come a long way here in San Diego. Working as head chefs at several distinguished restaurants here in San Diego, they had branched out on their own with this amazing BBQ House in Lemon Grove. They smoke everything here, including the beef & pork ribs, chicken & turkey, and hot wings as well. They offer a parade of great sides, too! I want to try a variety of items, so they suggested the medium family combo, which came with two large beef ribs, four pork ribs, a quarter chicken, and two sides of your choice. I had the coleslaw and fries. All three meats were smoked perfectly. The beef ribs were not only lookers but were super tender and delicious. They had a great smoke ring and offered not only that terrific beef flavor that lingers on the palate but a subtle smokiness. They use three different kinds of wood for their smoking process. Both the chicken and pork ribs were delicious and quite tender. I would order all three of them again in a heartbeat, but next time, I definitely want to try the rib tips and smoked wings. The fries and coleslaw were both very good, too. I liked that the slaw was not overly dressed. Service was very friendly and welcoming. I liked that they focused on the quality of the BBQ and ensuring that it is to your liking."

"Great food, service, and atmosphere at an affordable price. We had the beef ribs, pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, fries, and onion rings. Cannot say enough good things about the beef and pork. Tender, moist, and fell off the bone. The fries were hot and crispy. Great selection of wine and beer. Don't forget to try the smoked cheesecake! It was delicious too! We will definitely go back!"

"It's OK. I was wondering if the previous reviews were submitted by employees or friends and family. After today's visit, I'm thinking they were. This is not 5 star worthy. 4 star if you somehow get lucky and don't run into any major issues. Here's my opinion: Some say it's better than Phil's BBQ. No it's not. I know this place just opened a week ago, and they still need to get their stuff together. A little disorganized with the food delivery. Not so sure what's up with the non-functional bar area. Music kept cutting out, which means it was often quiet in the restaurant since the TVs are muted. Food seemed to take a while to come out, even though the place was half full. I say half full, because the outside seating was closed. I'm not very picky when it comes to restaurants. If you have decent food, I'll let you know. I won't write a bad review just to write one. We had five different meals, and none of them were good enough to tell others about. Everything was just okay and not anything that would draw me back to this restaurant. The white paint left over from previous Italian restaurant does not go with this BBQ place. They do have several beers I like, so that's a plus. Overall, it was OK. Food was OK. I'll go back in a few months just to see if they make any improvements."
