"We really enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is quite big but did seem tight with lots of tables really close to each other. Service was top notch with super friendly staff and they were quick at refilling water. We both did the make your own pasta. One was spaghetti with the pesto sauce, the other pappardelle with bolognese sauce. For the pesto one we added Italian sausage and for the pappardelle we did the meatballs. Both pastas were delicious, with plenty of sauce and the noodles cooked perfectly. The add ons were $8 each and the dishes themselves were $24 so definitely a bit pricier but so delicious!"

"Stop what you’re doing and get here already. Seriously…stop yelping other places. First time here. My husband made a reservation for our anniversary and this gem of a restaurant went above and beyond our expectations. The burrata was delicious. My husband ordered a glass of the Cabernet and I ordered a glass of the SuperTuscan and both were delish. That would have been enough to make our experience 10/10. Jacob, our waiter was friendly and attentive. He gave us great recommendations on what to order. Once we got our main dishes…that’s where the magic happened. My husband ordered the ravioli al tartufo and I ordered the cheese wheel pasta (this week’s pasta was spaghetti with pieces of thick cut bacon). To say that our dinner was perfectly and deliciously made is an understatement. Nate was attentive in picking up our unused plates and cleaning our table getting it prepared for the next course. We ordered the gelato galleggiante for dessert…has a bit of a coffee flavor and super yummy! Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant. Loved how the executive chef walked around the restaurant from time to time!"

"Oh my I never write reviews under four stars, but had to as a public service for my fellow San Diegans and folks that visit the city. We visited Bencotto on a Saturday night. After reading a bunch of reviews we landed on the place next-door, but that was a two hour so we went here where the wait was 30 minutes. Red flag? We had an absolutely lovely server with a great vibe and the menu looks delicious. We were so excited for the cheesewheel pasta. From the very beginning, things were a bit off as we got our food before we even got our drinks. We ordered the cheese wheel pasta for the table and it was the smartest thing that we did. Not because it was good, but because, it would’ve been a disaster if we all got the cheesewheel pasta! It was absolutely terrible. I cannot explain to you how bad this pasta was. It tasted overwhelmingly of mushroom and we tasted absolutely zero cheese in it at all. It was heavy and overly seasoned with sage, a savory nightmare! We definitely left some pasta in the bowl, even though we were splitting it between the four of us. The Caesar salad tasted like airplane food. There wasn’t even a hint of anchovy or anything authentic in it. The cheese tuille was mushy. The timing of the meal was all wrong with us not getting any silverware when our pastas came. Our dirty appetizer plates had to be quickly handed over, the expo seemed to be rushing us with his exasperated attitude. The poor busboy didn’t know what to do except come back to our table multiple times to try and clear plates. It appeared that somebody was hustling and hassling him, and he needed to look busy. Again our server was super sweet, but a lot of the problems with the meal were overlooked. When our individual pastas came it was appalling. Only one was good (signature salsa rosa sauce). The butternut squash tortelli special was a joke. There was no sage or butter. It was some sort of weird creamy dish with bacon bits and no butternut squash to speak of. What happend here!?. The reviews on others from others look great, we don’t know what happened, but know that we would never return. Everybody was really kind, but this was just a total miss. Oh by the way I work at Seattles top hand made pasta and Italian food restaurant for over 13 years so I know fine Italian food. This was no ok, felt swindled."

"Holy cow. One of the many amazing Italian joints in Little Italy with plenty of deli soup food and drinks with something for everyone. Stopped in for a late lunch and grabbed a seat at the bar. Loved the big windows and natural light - plus it sits off the main Little Italy road a bit so it was quieter and just wonderful. Started my meal with the bisque (soup) which was just delicious. Then thoroughly enjoyed an order of the crab ravioli! Everything was super tasty. I also saw the “cheese wheel pasta” (noodles in a being made in a parm wheel) and I have to come back for that in the future. Overall, great find & a big fan. Thanks to the guys waiting the bar area!"
