Regents Pizzeria

"Came here for a late lunch/early dinner 4pm ish for Valentine's Day and there was no wait and immediately ordered and sat. Menu is on the wall behind registers and also in print outs to the left if you'd like to read the descriptions and see prices, etc. They have a great selection of pizza, shareables, pastas, and alcohol. The pizza available for per slice is in the case with a list above it. We ordered and given a number and seating was up to us. Silverware also has to be picked up on your own as well as soda. They have indoor seating with a section that goes 'outside' where its covered and tv's on both ends and sunlight. Our shareables didn't take long to come out which were mozzarella sticks and one piece of the nashville hot chicken. Mozzarella sticks were nice and crispy with a good cheese pull, but not too much. Wish there was a bit more breading but definitely some of the better tasting sticks we've had. Nashville chicken came with a lot of pickled cucumbers all over the plate with it. It was good, juicy piece of chicken and the sauce was good, but I want more kick from my Nashville chicken. It's more of spicy oil than rub by the way. Our main items were a slice of pepperoni and Dominic's since they didn't have margherita. They both were very hot fresh out the oven! They have peppers, parmesan and something else in shakers. Pizza was well cooked, slightly greasy which is true NY style, and that delicious thin crust. Great flavor on it! Overall a great place tucked in the corner of this small business mall. The parking is pretty tight and you have to pay for it, but I believe they offer validation, although we didn't get ours done. We were there for about an hour and paid $4.50. Look forward to coming back to try more items off the menu!"

"Regents Pizza is located within a small shopping center off of Regents Road. They will validate your parking so don’t forget to ask or you will find yourself paying for it. You will go up and order your food, be given a number to place on your table and have the food delivered over to you. We ordered a small Walnut Gorgonzola salad to share and slices of deep dish to include the Popeye, Meat Lover and the Nashville Tendersee. The salad comes with a vinaigrette and was really tasty. The pizza slices were just huge and we probably should have just ordered one slice each. I enjoyed the Meat Lover more than the Popeye. - I felt like the artichokes were a little overwhelming in the Popeye pizza. This is my second favorite deep dish place in San Diego. A few other notes on Regents: there is indoor and patio seating, they have some bar seating as well. Soft drinks are self serve."

"$16 combo for 2 slices of pizzas and 1 fountain drink or 1 slice pizza, 1 salad and 1 fountain drink. If you are starving, you can even order 2 slices Chicago pizza in one combo. But I doubt anyone could finish them. Sweet flavored pizzas are not provided."

"Just left a brutal review of the “deep dish,” pizza at Lefty’s Chicago as I wanted to compare to my first visit to Rengents months ago. Well, just to recoup my loses at Lefty’s, I made another trip to Regents and glad to say this is the ONLY legit deep dish in SD proper. Enjoyed a meat lovers deep dish and a Manhattan slice. Incredible flavor and burnt to perfection. Daps to your cooks."
