"We lived in the neighborhood for over 5 years now. Thirsty Merchant is one of the walkable hang out spots to grab a beer and some food. We’ve tried so many times to like this place, we’ve brought family visiting from out of town, friends, a little date away from the baby…it’s shocking how bad service have been every single time. Me and my husband both work in the industry so we get being busy or having off days but we finally gave up. It really comes down to how rude the staff is. The bar and the door especially. We officially gave up on trying. So sad cause it’s so close."
"I don’t think I’ve ever had a good time at a sports bar until here. Seating options were awesome for both inside & out. Although it was pretty busy for Sunday football, drink & food came out surprisingly fast & both looked/tased AMAZING ! The crowd was NOT rough or loud despite the mix of teams. Overall amazing place & can not wait to go back"
"So this was a real treat in our West Coast adventure. Obviously, being football fans in a family where we all support different teams, finding a location where we can all see our games is a plus. The atmosphere was perfect with a variety of fans and all games on a television. It was instantly recognizable that you wouldn't be cheering alone. The food was delicious and the beer was cold! I highly recommend the garlic buffalo sauce. The bartenders are top notch, I wanted to order two shots of Crown Apple chilled. The bar doesn't carry that liquor, so I resigned myself to regular Crown. Not to see me leave disappointed, the bartender offered to turn the Crown shots into Washington Apple shots, which hit the spot. As for the atmosphere, visiting from New Jersey, the vibe was any hometown sports bar. People were warm and polite. If I were to live in LA, this would be my go-to spot for football and relaxation with some drinks."
"I like this place. I’ve been 3 times. Most recently I ordered a beer and fried pickles. My bartender helped me select the pickles and she did a great job of helping me decide between the deviled eggs and pickles—the best I’ve ever had. The pickles actually paired well with my $5 beer. It has a great bar with a variety of entertainment, and the food is good. I love the TV screens for UFC nights! It’s sort of communal sitting outside. Customer service is normal. The bar and kitchen staff are straightforward. All food is ordered at the bar. Parking was easy because of the dedicated lot and Riverside Drive west of Whitsett."
"I literally took a bite of the deserts and thought, 'Oh my gosh, this is the best thing I've ever tasted!' It's a small and cozy place and the beer was amazing! Definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area and want to grab some food and drinks."
