"Was my first visit. Loved the experience! Super sweet waitress, Vanessa, was on top of everything. Food was fabulous, we enjoyed the roasted Brussels sprouts and the sausage sampler. Friend had a Guinness, naturally and I had regular coffee, yum, and an Irish coffee, very yum. Ladies room was spotless and there was cute and tasteful Valentine's decor. He was staying at the Lexen and this was a perfect choice - easy walking distance. Will be back even if I am by myself!"

"Took a chance at 8:30pm on a Wednesday & introduced a new friend to Old Town Newhall. We thought Maginns would make a great impression! It did! She loved the hometown feel. The server let us know that if we were wanting food, she would let the chef know. We placed an order right away and the fish 'n chips and chicken fingers were served very quickly! I loved "H. Salt, Esq. Authentic English Fish and Chips" growing up and this was SO much better! Crunchier, a HUGE piece of fish and the fries were just how I like them! The chicken fingers were also very large, crunchy pieces of chicken but moist inside! If you want to make a good impression with someone, take them to Maggins!! "Maginns has a lot going for it. First it's on Main Street in Old Town Newhall. Won't go deep but Newhall is a history rich part of SoCal and the L.A. area in what is now Santa Clarita. Of the four communities in the SC valley Newhall is the oldest with the most charm. Whether before or after visiting Maginns there are lots of sidewalk walkable spots to hit on Main Street. Once you get inside you'll find a smallish and fairly traditional Irish/British pub. Guinness and Harp on tap and they make a decent Black and Tan. The atmosphere is a 4+. The food was outstanding. A legit 5. Wife had Bangers and Champ. Sausage and an onion sauce over mashed potatoes. She loved it. I had Fish and chips. The fish was huge. The batter, perfect. Fresh fish, tasted like cod, definitely a light white fish. Very good chips. Price was ok, not exceptionally high or low. The only negative was our server. He was nice, pleasant and informative but not particularly attentive. Service is very situational and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on an off night. Overall a very strong and high 4 that I'm rounding up. We'll be back."

"Stopped by the other day to check it out as my daughter recommended me to go and found all the reviews I read prior to going to be very accurate. I was craving gourmet hamburger and received just that. Hearty and tasty to say the least. No complaints whatsoever and the service was excellent. Also tried a bit of the fish and chips from my wife’s plate which did not disappoint. Highly recommended!!"
