"People claim this is a dive bar, but it has only mid to top tier booze options. So while the interior shoes signs of the times (it's historic), this still is a relatively higher end place. I do love the history. The fish in the wall apparently was caught by General Patton off Catalina Island prior to World War 2. I really enjoyed my time here. Bartender was attentive and poured a generous mixed drink. They do offer steak, but this is definitely more of a bar vibe than a restaurant."

"Came to Chez Jay with my family to go to dinner with some clients. The staff were great at hosting the young children who had a blast and we all enjoyed the food and the classic atmosphere. Everyone left full and happy. Easy free parking next to the building."

"I love it here. The food and vibes are always great. I did have a reservation at 7 and was not seated till a little after 730 due to overbooking and how crowded it was. Had a few martinis while waiting so I was pretty drunk for dinner which made the food taste even better. I love their scampi and potatoes. Love it"

"Lovely place, cozy and had a vintage vibe, the servers were so nice and helpful and the food was delicious. Shout out to David one of the cooks for helping us at the parking lot and go out of his way to do so, we are very grateful."

"Very great seafood. The sand dab was wonderful. The free bread was served warm and smothered in garlic flavored butter. The potato side was wonderful. Great service. Only complaint was that my table was in the middle and bar guests kept talking or moving over me or running into my chair. Also, it was a bit too dark inside."
