Reviews of Carter's
"Very friendly and polite staff. I never make it more than 3 steps through the door before being greeted by an employee with an inviting "hello and welcome." They're always quick when I'm there for a pick up and helpful when I'm looking for something in-store. Excellent customer service!"
"My children have very sensitive skin, so we limit the mask wearing by having them wear faceshields. They are accepted everywhere else. We have not had a problem. In fact, we had been to several other stores prior and had no problems when entering. We decided to drop into Carters last and we entered the store with me in a mask and my oldest in a face shield. After being greeted by an employee we were approached by the manager, who proceeded to tell us my child needed a mask. When I said they have a face shield, they said they have not been allowed in the store for a year. I was shocked. Carters staff was very nice when telling us they had to have a mask on, but I was shocked they don't allow faceshields. We decided to leave the store. It's not the employees fault and the manager even seemed sympathetic. However, it is very sad that the corporation has this strict of a rule. Unfortunately, we will be shopping other places from now on and it's really sad because that only hurts the employees who have no control."
"Took my 2 year old here today to spend around 100.00 for pants and cloths. We were met at the door and told our 2 year old needed a mask or we couldn't come in. Have you ever tried to put a mask on a 2 year old? Obviously these policy makers don't have kids. Also, kids are highly succeptable to bacteria produced by masks causing pneumonia... I'll never shop or give a dime to this company again!"
"Rude and lazy employees, went in with my 2yr old son for socks. I was told my son had to have a mask on and I told them how old he was. I was told 2 and over has to have a mask. Oregon state law or mask guidance says 5 and older mask required 2 and older mask required if they can put it on and remove it independently. No apology no offer for alternative shopping options nothing from these people. Terrible management and training. Will not return"
"Recently went in to return some gifts I was given. I didn’t have the receipt, so expected that I would only be given store credit. I waited a solid 10 minutes behind ONE customer as the store clerk moved at a glacial pace ordering items for her off the website, and slowly detailing every size and color option they had online. When it was finally my turn, I was told I could get a store credit for the items I brought. Great. I asked that it be put on my account, as I was in a hurry. The clerk then told me I had to make the exchange in the store TODAY. She would not give me the credit to use online or another time. So, I went and picked out a couple items to exchange. Then the clerk told me I still had .81 cents left to use. I told her it was fine, they could keep the .81 cents. She told me I couldn’t do that, in order to make the exchange, I had to have or exceed the exact amount, and started suggesting 3$ items I could add on, even when I said I had no interest in buying anything else. When I complained, she made a comment about that being the best they could do without receipts. (Meanwhile, clothes are unworn with tags still on.) I took my original clothes back and left. This store has lost my business. Those policies make no sense at all and the service was terrible."
