Reviews of Rockin' Baja Lobster - Old Town
"This was a fun place we stopped by on a food tour so didn't get to experience other items on the menu. Seeing what was going to tables was all mouth-watering. The salsa bar was great and the Margarita was perfect."
"We came with a large group of 14. Our server was Adrianna. The whole experience was excellent, and Adrianna was a shining star. She took excellent care of us, remembering each little detail of our drink and food orders, serving quick and seamless with a great personality. We noticed later she had other tables as well, hard to believe considering how much attention she gave our party. The food was memorable and felt very authentic. This is a very fun place, and I highly recommend it for anyone in the Old Town area of San Diego. I attached a picture of their taquitos (don't slip them!)"
"Location is a little loud with traffic noise but food was very tasty. Server did not tell us or other tables about the salsa bar to go with the chips they bring to the table. I really loved the pineapple salsa. Had the shrimp tacos which were excellent. Horchata very good too."
"I grew up in San Diego, and I think I first went to Rockin Baja Lobster over 20 years ago, just after it had opened, and recall having great meals in a fun atmosphere. Last week I was staying at the Old Town Hilton Garden Inn and needed a place to have lunch. I was surprised that Rockin Baja was just a couple blocks away, so I decided to give it a try. It was a Friday afternoon and the place was not very busy at all, but the service staff was very nice and accommodating. They invited me to try the excellent salsa bar, provide me with some very fresh chips and then gave me the menu to order from. Although I was in the mood for Pacific lobster tails, I was not really in the mood for some of the bigger dishes that surrounded it. My waiter suggested an effective and efficient way to order the lobster tails, à la cart, and then order a side of rice and beans with an order of flour tortillas. It was a perfect solution. A perfect amount - with a reasonable cost. The lobster was very tasty and fresh. The rice and beans were excellent and the tortillas were very good, as well. I definitely look forward to coming back next time I’m in San Diego."
"A fun spot for tourists like myself! The service was attentive and nothing a miss and literally came to our table a moment after being seated. The food and ambiance is absolutely amazing. All the vibrant color’s throughout the restaurant is fun and offers a good vibe! The food comes out fresh and quick. They have a large salsa bar that you can go to endlessly with different types of condiments and free carrots, cucumbers, etc. We loved the calamari, Lobster burrito (wet) which was filled with buttery lobster and shrimp. Parking is simple and free. They also give you pretty large portion sizes. This place is a MUST if you’re visiting San Diego."
