Nick's on State

"WoW! Nick's on State Street delivered in a BIG way. Our server Brittany was amazing, and when we asked for recommendations, she was spot on. The Bacon Deviled Eggs surpassed our expectations. Our entrees were delicious but the Carrot Cake.... don't pass on it. It's ridiculously huge and easily could be split among 2-4 people depending on hunger levels."

"The Ribeye melt is my favorite so far. I've had that sandwhich three times and each time it was amazing. I've come here on my lunch a few times and once for dinner. It's easier to eat at the bar on lunch, however during the evening I did make a reservation."

"My hubby, sister and I enjoyed an incredible meal at Nick's. With updated elegance you still feel the history & vibe of the old airplane hanger. The food is really incredible. We had the fried chicken, French dip and fish sandwich. All the dishes were delicious but the super star of the night was the Prime rib dip. Best restaurant in Carlsbad."

"Had heard great things and turns out, they were all true. Exceptional food, service and ambiance. We walked in on a Monday night and they were packed, asked if the 4 top on the patio was taken, but there was a late reservation that had booked it. They called the people holding the reservation and they were not coming, so we lucked out. Get a reservation for sure, super popular spot. 2nd tip, go with the boneless fried chicken, absolutely the best."

"My first time to Nick's here in Carlsbad. First, outstanding service - from the bar to the table. (Sean is an excellent waiter.) Next, the drinks, the appetizers, the main courses, the desserts: all top notch. We had the asparagus fries, shrimp taquitos, fried chicken, ribeye melt, bistro plate, sirloin steak, butter cake, and hot fudge sundae. All were outstanding. (Forgive the blurry pics.) And they took care of the birthday girl! Great place. So glad we finally made it."
