Pitfire Pizza 7720 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92009

"We came here looking to go to Sweet Green, but instead gave Pitfire a chance instead on a whim because last time we were in this area we said we’d try it. We were AMAZED! We got the cheesy knots, a mushroom pizza, and a Caesar salad to split. It was all great. We took a chance on an obscure pizza in an obscure place and it totally paid off. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super cool and respectful of us scanning through the menu and made sure to let us know if we had any questions. We were also greeted at the door by one of their managers and gave us the run down of how their establishment works. My wife got the “I’m your Huckleberry” slushie mixed drink and I tried one of their IPAs on draft. Just really good drinks. We will absolutely be back for another husband/wife date day or date night."

"This restaurant is an absolute GEM! Just what we needed, a place with great pizza, great drinks and a great atmosphere. We’ve been here enough times that it’s a little embarrassing and have never been disappointed. The vegetarian (or not) chopped salad is the best! What do they put in that dressing? And the pizza??? WOW! I suggest smaller parties sit at the bar where the service is full (and fantastic). Our new Carlsbad favorite!"

"From LA to San Diego, Pitfire brings new competition to the San Diego pizza scene. For those looking for something a little different from San Diego heavy hitters like Pizza Port and something more cocktail/wine based, this would be the spot. We ordered a dressed avocado, honey bear pizza, say cheese pizza, and an I'm your huckleberry slushie. Portions were on par with nearby pizza places for the price. The honey bear had the perfect blend of sweet and spicy to it, and the say cheese had a great blend of cheeses. Crust on both were cooked to perfection and not dripping in grease. We'll see how the competition in the area reacts, but this one should have no problem staying in the mix."

"Went to their soft launch and had a great time. The pizza was great (got the one with ricotta, peppers and honey) and the cheese knots were a hit. Friendly staff (especially the host) and very fun ambiance. Excited to go back when they’re fully up and running"
