"This is my second visit to this location. The first time was to eat their pupusas, and they were just ok. The taste was off and their curtido needed help. Needless to say, the owner was nice and I was encouraged to try them out again. Went in recently, no greeting, unsure if it was self seating or what. When the waitress decided to come near I approached her to placed my order. This time I decided to try another classic, Pan con pollo, the chicken tasted old. I'm not sure how many times it may have been reheated but they didn't even try. Their horchata was basic, it tasted like a prepaid packet mix. Also ordered a platano plate accompanied with beans and crema, this was by far the only thing that was tasty. Well I suffered the whole day with an upset stomach. Service lacked, there is no follow up if anything was needed or how the food/service was. Mind you only two other tables were being served. For a day I was starving and looking forward to Salvi food especially knowing I rarely am in the area...a huge disappointment and waste of money."
"Great little spot for Salvadorean food! We found El Salazar while looking for pastelitos, and discovered that they had recently opened. Their pupusas, pastelitos, and empanadas are wonderful. The curtido is fresh and is an excellent accompaniment to the main dishes. We ordered a churro this last time, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it had a jelly filling (like a filled donut, but better!) The restaurant itself isn't much to look at, but the food makes it worth the visit."
"Living in Los Angeles all my life and moving to Colton was def a change I was disappointed that there was not a authentic Salvadorean restaurant. We waited almost a year for this spot to open. And it was worth the wait. The pupusas are delicious omg. Up to par with my old LA spot. Very authentic and the owners are very nice courteous. We visit every Friday and the never disappointed. Best place to have your traditional pupusas. Place is big and plenty of parking."
