Trail Dust BBQ

"The food is a little high priced. However, the food is amazing and worth trying at least once! We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches with Mac and cheese for the side. We ordered a baked potato on the side, as well as a side of coleslaw and the berry blue salad. The pulled pork was served on a soft ciabatta bun. The bbq sauce is spicey and delicious! The mac and cheese had good flavor and not too heavy. The salad was bursting with flavor. All the veggies and fruit worked with the vignette and the candied pecans! We had lots of food leftover and took it home for lunch. I highly recommend this place. It's cute and quaint on the downtown Morgan Hill strip. Perfect for date night and a walk! Went there again this week. Had a big order. The service was not there. I was rushed over the phone. And not met with friendly service upon pick up. The staff looked angry and stressed. The food was still delicious, but it does affect my rating and my decisions to not go back."

"It's too pricey for the portions. There is too much fat on the brisket. Tri tip isn't tender. I'm sure at one point this place was good. Complacency set in - riding their reputation. They need to get back to day 1 work ethic. Food is the hero. Let's make 2024 the biggest sales year & focus on supply chain, portion, quality assurance, and GM retention."

"I’m a BBQ connoisseur, who when passing through a new town can’t resist to stop by and try the local bbq spot. You will not be disappointed when you stop by, even though the presentation was subpar the Brisket sandwich was fire, the Mac n Cheese was fire, the coleslaw was fire (a little sweet) but I like that. Great beer selection, they had a Cat Coffee Stout Collaboration beer and it was outstanding. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming I wish I lived here and could visit as a regular. The bathrooms we clean and tidy, so I knew they were going to have bomb food."

"Great little place downtown. Food was extremely filling so don't worry about portions. Everything was amazing. The only gripe I had was with the Mac and cheese, it seemed a little watery. Flavoring/ seasoning and cheese was good for it though."

"If someone gave me a business card that said "real dentist" on it, I'd immediately start to question the validity of that dentist. That's why I was skeptical when I saw that Trail Dust had a sign that said "real smoked BBQ". Their sauce bottles also threw me off. It said how it has all natural ingredients and then it went on to say all the things that weren't in the sauce. There was no high fructose corn syrup, no MSG, no gluten, and no major allergens. They didn't mention one ingredient that was actually in the sauce. I'm sure there are plenty of things that aren't in this sauce, I just want to know what's in it. I could have got past that stuff if the food was great, but that wasn't the case. The cornbread was burnt. They should see if people want their cornbread well done, medium well, medium, or rare. I also got the brisket, which was underwhelming. I told my friend about it later and he said never to get the brisket here. Apparently their tri-tip is much better. I initially ordered that, but they were out. Overall, if I'm going to give myself heartburn there are other places that I'd prefer to do that at."
