"The bats are better than the people. Amazing to see the bats come out and swarm around but the people were extremely loud and one lady was even taking photos with her flash. Hoping to revisit one day when there are fewer (or quieter) people."
"You must go here, if ever in San Antonio!! This place was amazing!! Do the combo tour!! Be prepared to walk up and down!"
"A perfectly wild experience! This is the largest bat colony in the world and seeing them make their way out into the night sky is unforgettable! You can literally feel the breeze created by their millions of little wings. You must be a member of BCI (check out batcon.org) to visit, but becoming a member is quick and easy. You can NOT just pop in for a visit or tour. But the "work" of planning ahead and scheduling your visit is more than worth it! BCI was super helpful with the reservations, and the docents on site were so knowledgeable!"
"Bracken Cave is the summer home to the largest colony of bats in the world. An estimated 20 million Mexican free-tailed bats roost in the cave from March to October making it the largest known concentration of mammals. The cave is located in southern Comal County, Texas, outside the city of San Antonio. The 100-foot-wide crescent shaped opening to the cave lies at the bottom of a sinkhole, formed when the roof of the cave collapsed."
"It was a very educational experience, the guides tell you how every thing was created, it was awesome!"
