"This path is stroller friendly, although not much shade around the lake. For a more shady route, check out the Trailhead leading away from the lake. Seemed to be quite a few stray dogs near the lake area. I'm not sure why that was. But this park is filled with perks including some cute, tall flower sculptures that make for a great photo opportunity. There are plenty of picnic tables and trash cans everywhere. There are also lots of options for parking throughout the park."

"Good place to fish primarily catfish as far as i know no cast net allowed rod only and bag limit 5 catfish 12inch minimum at this lake. License required for anyone 17 and older those are park rules just a FYI however i have been going to this park for 20 plus years and never bumped into or seen a Texas park and wild life conservation officer swing by just saying But if your cautious like me and want your license you can now buy a day pass or all year all water pass on the Texas outdoor annual App and use your phone as license till they send you physical license p.s you don't need buy All Water pass if only fishing fresh water basically lakes unless you going down to corpus or the ocean in general"

"Nice area. The uphill trail from Pecan Valley to Southside Lions is super intense. I wish more people would be riding or jogging in the area. Pecan Valley Lake seems lonely. City event coordinators need to step up their game to make Pecan Valley Lake more exciting to visit."
