"Jefferson County's Brown's Ford Park is basically a small Big River access adjacent to a highway bridge. There are vault toilets and a mowed picnic area. When I visited, there were people putting their boats in the river, but no remaining parking spots for them to park. Also, there was no sign for the park. You just have to know where to turn. If you just want to access the popular Big River and can schedule to arrive at a non-peak time, this is a convenient access. It is great that Jefferson County provides this access."
"This small park offers easy access to Big River for canoeing, kayaking or boat access. There is a boat ramp, picnic tables, and outhouse and parking. It is in flood plain and at certain times has mud puddles, etc. Otherwise a nice picnic spot."
"Great access point for the Big River. The stretch between Merrill Horse and here is a great little stretch of river that is seldom traveled besides by fishermen. The Park has a concrete boat ramp, BBQ pits, picnic tables, ample parking and a primitive restroom. I'd recommend this access point for anyone looking to access the big River upstream from Morse Mill."
