Lost Mine Trail Head

"A good hike. My family struggled to get to the top but thank God made it safely. We took a few breaks along the way and took our time. Complete time was about 5 hrs for us. My wife got burnt because she wasn’t wearing a head covering. This is like any other hike. Come prepared or you’ll find out the hard way. Plenty of water, loose clothing, good shoes, and always keeping a lookout because the rocks are very loose in some areas. Overall well worth it."

"The trail itself is fantastic, 5-star plus. But the parking at the trailhead is another matter. There is only space for about 15 vehicles and if the spaces are full, you have to turn around and try again later. Of course, people turn to dangerous alternatives like parking further down and walking along the road - not recommended. The ranger advised us to get there by 7:30am (sunrise was at 7:20). We got there at 7:20 and took one of the two remaining places. Well worth doing the trail shortly after sunrise for the beautiful morning light and pleasant temperatures."

"One of our favorite hikes here and HIGHLY recommended..! There is very little parking at the trail head and not a lot of opportunity to park close by and walk in.. if you wait there is a constant churn of persons coming back.. We arrived around noon in January and there were no spaces available at first - but lots of spaces available when we left that afternoon! Poles recommended - the ascent is a steady climb but moderately steep none the less!"

"Very nice and easygoing trail. Feasible for kids but if you bring them, keep them close, there's pumas around. The whole trail back and forth is about 2h45 minutes (viewing breaks included) and comes with amazing views!"

"Fantastic hike. All uphill on the way in but only the last bit is a little tough BUT really worth doing. As a couple of 70 year Olds. It was doable and we loved the views from the top."
