"I’ll give Marc’s place a solid 5 star rating. There’s good and bad, so please decide if it’s for you. It’s ½ of a mile out of town. It’s up a dirt road that’s best for SUV’s or trucks. A car can make it, but it has lots of ruts and holes. It’s real camping. Sites 1 – 6 are tent camping only; you park and carry your stuff to the site. I was in spot 8. It’s a little further up the road, but it has a great view. we pulled the camper up the hill and parked the 21 foot camper. Was a squeeze, but it worked ! The bathroom is great. Two toilets and a nice big shower house. The view is great and it’s soooo quiet. No power / water / sewer connection / internet / TV connections. There’s a cell tower not far away, and I had 4 or 5 bars ! He was honest with me about the campground. Appreciate him not blowing smoke. Very cool with an early check in. Overall, a great experience. You just have to know what you are getting into."
"The view is really good, and the shower and sanitary facilities are clean. But the rest disappointed. Hardly anything signposted, rubbish and rubble everywhere. Looks like you started something and lost interest in it a long time ago."
"Maybe the best views in Terlingua! Otters Den Adobe cabin fit our family of 5 snuggly and kept us warm in the December winds. It was a great place to camp - and if camping is what you've got in mind, its great. I'd suggest getting there in daylight as the road is hard to find and extrmely rough with a steep grade. Bring lots of water. There is not running water at your site (and firewood if you're there in the winter - the nights and mornings are cold!) What I wish we had brought: a 5 gallon water tank for easy water access...fast hand washing, and a possible place to put some hot water to wash hair and dishes in case the hot water is out at the bath house/community kitchen. Marc is a nice guy and we enjoyed time talking with him about Terlingua and his vision for Livingrock Campground."
"Great camping experience with all the necessities....showers, bathroom and coffee machine! Stayed at Otters Den, yurt. Unbeatable views of sunrise and sunset."
"Great campsites overlooking Terlingua and Big Bend. The new outhouse with flushing toilets was a big plus. 4X4 cars/trucks are needed to get to the campsites as it is a steep grade and a bumpy dirt road"
