Reviews
"I have amazing childhood memories of Cooper Park."
"Stayed at a hotel nearby and needed a place to run in the morning. Looked promising on Alltrails. The trail is mostly dirt/gravel and under the e canopy. Parts of it are on a boardwalk- it’s higher above the swampy parts. It’s about 2 miles up to a marina and back. I’d recommend it."
"We love taking walks here! Great place to let kids be kids and enjoy nature."
"Review Date: October 7th, 2014 Cooper Park North is the companion park to Cooper Park South. Are you looking for a place that has; a playground, an open field, some woods and hiking trails in East Peoria? Cooper Park North can fill your needs. Cooper Park North isn’t your traditional park. There is a parking lot and a playground but that is where similarities end. If you go to the back of the park, you’ll find a path that leads to a nice hiking area. My friends and I hiked the entire area and it was a lot bigger than I thought. If hiking isn’t your fancy, you can walk to the riverfront and enjoy the serene scenery and the sound of gentle waves lapping the shores. Cooper Park North is connected to Cooper Park South, so you can explore both areas by hiking. One thing to watch out for is flooding. Since the park is right along the river, it gets flooded almost every year. If the river is high, you can guarantee that part or all of the park will be closed. Keep that in mind if you decide to venture here. Remember, leave recreational places cleaner than when you arrived."
"Quaint little park to enjoy a lunch break! Little noisy from the traffic on 116 but relaxing space nonetheless. Nice pavilion that’s got a concrete pad. Little kiddy area with slide and swings. Nice walking path towards the river and through the wooded river bottoms."
