"I like this laundromat but I'm cutting them out-- no more except for the really heavy stuff. I'm buying a washing machine. The top loaders went from $3 to $4 a load this summer without a 33% increase for water, gas, electric. The dryer times went to 5 minutes for a quarter. Gouging? In my mind, yes. The 2 other laundromats nearby closed so somehow I feel we are being used. I found a 15 lb load machine for $189 on Amazon and there are others plus Affirm or Paypal easy credit to pay in 6 months with no interest. That's less than the $40 a month for using 2 machines weekly and damp drying. I won't have to leave the house and I can stash the machine in the back room plus if it lasts a few years I'll be saving a lot of money after it's paid up in 6 months."
