"Great setup for the animals. Plenty of workers/volunteers (?). Everyone was very nice & helpful when I brought in a kitten I found. Awesome that their medical clinic is the store next door. Here’s the kitten I found, Strudel - he should be available soon; great, chill, cuddly cat."
"We adopted Sunflower, now named Tina, from NAWS in January! The workers were so informative and so unbelievably kind with the whole process. They truly made me so comfortable. They helped me with the whole process of having Tina meet our other cat as well. Its been almost 2 months and they love each other! She was the best addition to our family. Couldn’t be more thankful for NAWS"
"NAWS has been AMAZING to work with. I was a first time dog owner so was nervous about adopting a dog myself. I was interested in Charlie (found him on Petfinder) and went to the NAWS website to fill out an application / inquiry. I was contacted a few days later to see if I would like to come in to meet Charlie. When I met Charlie, I was still a little nervous (again first time dog owner). Tim, the director at NAWS, was great and said he could do a home visit with Charlie to see if he would be good in my place. A few days later, Tim made the trip out with Charlie to see if he would like my apartment (stairs, noise, see if he was nervous). Charlie did great and I went in the next day to officially adopt him! The home visit really helped ease my nerves and I appreciated Tim taking that extra step. Once home, Lina from NAWS reached out to me (via email) with first owner tips, some helpful links, and general advice. She was wonderful help during the first few days when I was nervous and wanting to make sure Charlie was adjusting well. She was (and still is) very responsive if I have any questions, suggestions, etc. I have had Charlie now for three weeks and couldn't be happier! NAWS was fantastic to work with and their work is much needed! So happy I was able to make a safe home for a pup in need. I would suggest working with them if you are looking for a furry lovebug 100%!"
"We were looking for a new cat or kitten as our beloved 18 year Lexi passed away. We came in to visit 2 cats and determined neither would work with our resident cat. NAWS was patient and honest about the 2 cats and felt they would not work with our cat due to their personalities. I appreciated that very much as they could have pushed them off to us without batting an eye. I then came in to meet Bugs who was the perfect 8 month old kitten. A day after I had her home I got really congested etc and thought I was allergic to her! They recommended a special diet to cut down on the allergic reaction. I ordered the food and like magic, a few weeks later, all good. Thank you NAWS for working with us. We love Bugs and she is an absolute joy!!"
"When we saw Sauce, now Levi, on Petfinder, we just had to meet him. After filling out an application we came to meet him and instantly fell in love. Next we did a meet and greet with our husky and as soon as we saw them play together, we knew he would be the perfect addition to our family. After adopting, they have kept in contact and assisted with an unexpected hernia surgery that was needed. They offer discounted prices at their vet clinic for animals that have been adopted through them. NAWS adoption process may seem more extensive then most rescues, but the process truly benefits the animals and ensures people don’t impulse buy."
