"We have only lived in Illinois for a bit over a year and recently switched from another veterinarian to Village Animal Clinic in Carol Stream. Took our sweet Marley in for some odd coughing and wheezing the other day and she was diagnosed with Bronchitis/Kennel Cough. We have no idea how she got it as she was up to date on shots and is never with other dogs other than her sister. They gave her fluids, did an x-ray to make sure it was not worse than suspected and medications for home. The following day, they texted to check in on her and it was so much appreciated. We finally found our home!!! Thank you so much for being such an amazing office!!"

"I’ve had a couple of really bad experiences at Village Animal Clinic. When my cat was neutered 10 years ago, they called me to let me know they had given him the anesthesia for dogs instead of the anesthesia for cats. He ended up being okay, thank goodness. I moved out of the area for 7 years but I recently moved back so I gave them another try, against my better judgment. I recently had to bring my cat in because he was throwing up, having diarrhea and he was extremely lethargic. I was extra worried because he is diabetic. I had them run every test on him that they suggested (pancreatitis lab, x-ray, urine test to name a few) and they couldn’t find anything wrong. After two days there I picked up my cat to take him to an emergency vet for the weekend because he had not improved. They gave my cat to me covered in urine and feces and said they “tried to clean him.” It should be noted that my cat is very hard to handle at the vet because he gets very stressed and can bite and scratch. However, there are many methods that vets should utilize in order to restrain cats comfortably when they need certain care. At the emergency vet I arrived and they diagnosed him immediately, told me my cat was in DKA and that I should increase his insulin doses going forward. I had asked Village Animal Clinic before if I should increase his insulin and they told me no because his dose was “a good dose for a cat his size.” At the emergency vet my cat started eating well so I had them examine him and then took him home. I’m really confused as to why my cat wasn’t properly diagnosed at Village Animal Clinic over the course of two days. They had me run tests and administer medications that he didn’t end up needing and it cost me over $1,500. They gave my cat back to me covered in excrement and overlooked what should have been an easy diagnosis. I will not be returning for the care of my cat and I will be finding a different veterinarian."

"I have been taking my pets here for more then year now. I love the staff and doctor who spends time and goes over the treatment plan with pricing so you know ahead of the time which route to take. I always get follow up next morning for any concerns. I would strongly recommend. I haven’t gone to any where else so can’t compare the prices but i am very happy with service."
