Barkley Meadows Park

"Rarely super busy, great paved pathways for running, and you can easily get in 5 miles without repeating yourself very much on the paths. And the water is the highest I've seen it in a very long time! Also, I saw several green parakeets from some of the lost parakeet tribes of Austin. I didn't know there was a group of them out here! There is also a new path, the first one I know of in over 5 years. It's a quarter mile one way and goes off of the far side of the main fishing pond, headed more or less South and behind one of the new neighborhoods. It will go further, but that is as much as they have completed thus far."

"Parking is in the front of the park. There are 2 different pond areas to fish. Some of the paths aren't finished yet so the map isn't accurate. There is a playground for the kids. Portable bathrooms are near the playground area. I didn't use them so I'm not sure if they were clean or not. The trails are nice and the park isn't overly crowded with people."

"Beautiful experience with walking and cycling paths. It has 2 lakes for fishing and has many fun stuff like bird watching or digging at the archaeological site."

Fishing (catch & release), walking trails, hiking, ducks, clean restrooms, handwashing station, nature trails with educational information, picnic areas and more! Water proof boots recommended for the damp/muddy areas. Great place for a family day, birthday party, hiking, educational outdoor fun, fishing or grab a book and get some sun."
