"This facility had received my dog and I called them everyday asking did they have him because my neighbor seen them pick him up they told me over and over again they didn’t have him. I went up there to do a walk through and they offered me to look at another dog. My dog wasn’t there. I have pictures of my dog the shot record and everything to prove it’s mine. Then finally they looked in their system and said oh we gave him to rescue on Wednesday. I’m crushed I called everyday asking if they had him and they lied saying they didn’t. I reached out to the rescue to get my puppy back and they had already placed him in a home and refused to reach out to the family to explain the situation. This facility isn’t right and know it was wrong of what they did but asked that I not reach out to the rescue anymore because it’ll make them not want to come get other pets. They don’t need to because they did this wrong and maliciously. How could you lie call after call saying you don’t have the puppy then all of a sudden you sent him to a rescue after you neutered him. Please don’t support this place they are making money off animals wrongfully then refuse to make it right or take accountability."
"I was surprised to have had physical contact with my dog before at the shelter who was diagnosed with ringworm after she was sent home, and to find out she had hookworm, whip worm, and kennel cough after I took her to the vet 3 days later. When I picked her up the day of her hysterectamy she was salivating a lot all over the place and 2 days later a fever. My vet said she was a fixer upper. Lake Dallas and Hickory Creek shelter doesn't release animals until they are well. Beware extremely careful of contact with the animals "Introduction in the shelter" as you may contract and pass to yourself and other animals. The shelter did not put my dog in isolation or indicate her problems. Very sad and disturbing."
"Mindy Mayer-Henry is nothing short of rude, truculent, beyond unprofessional, and lacks vital communication skills! Just like Hayley who left a review 2 weeks ago, my dogs’ appointment was scheduled on a day they were closed, 9/11. No one reached out. This is transpiring in the midst of my aunt transitioning and my promotion to head of Special Investigations Unit. Shortly after my aunt who lived with me died of cancer, I gained a slew of responsibilities including 3 children and her funeral arrangements! So I had to postpone my dog’s appointment for obvious reasons. This was all communicated with Mindy Mayer-Henry and she showed no sympathy/empathy and wasn’t trying to work with my new scheduled days off (Thursdays and Sundays). There’s no direct number for the clinic and I was stuck having to email this woman who (per her fb profile-and I pray is far from the truth), is the supervisor at this clinic. We were emailing about my dogs appointment and she failed to communicate that a confirmation email was needed for me to drop her off. I emailed her minutes after she emailed me (Thursday) advising I could drop my dog off on Sunday, and didn’t get a response until I sent another email on Sunday when I got there and no one was answering the doors. I’ve gotten nothing but combative, catty, and smart responses since. Not a good look for the clinic at all. I’ll definitely be calling my uncle who works for the City of Denton regarding to find out who she reports to. “Supervisor” 101: Mrs. Henry, people are quicker to leave a negative review than they are a good one. DO BETTER “MA’AM”"
"My roommate got her first kitten here, we weren’t told that she still needed milk. I put my phone number and name down for her spay appointment because my roommate had work that day. I forgot & missed the appointment, scheduled a new one but y’all were completely closed no one answered the phone. Then I got a threatening phone call saying I would be summoned when she isn’t even my cat. Scheduled another appointment with the same lady who left the voicemail she was very UNPROFESSIONAL & DISRESPECTFUL, didn’t tell us she couldn’t eat the night before or morning of the appointment. Lastly I show up for my appointment only to find out she didn’t even schedule it. Thankfully the front desk ladies are so helpful, and gave me the RIGHT info plus a REAL appointment."
"Family friendly place to adopt a new family member. Staff was friendly. Process was easy. Our dog was $60 and came microchipped with shots and surgery."
