"Avoid Felix and his pool company at all costs!!! Because it WILL cost you. I signed my pool contract on Jan 26th 2022. As of today June 7th 2023 my pool is finally usable after finding other pool builders to finish the work that Felix left undone. That's 17 months! Felix was subcontracted to do my pool refurbishing, to include, a new deck, new plastering and new equipment. My wife and I were told it would take about 4-6 weeks, we both thought that was rather optimistic so in our heads we doubled it and no problem because the pool should still be ready for Summer 2022. I started typing all that went wrong and realized this will be a book. Thus some quick examples, 1. Broke much of our plumbing and then wanted to charge extra to repair their damage, after they were forewarned what they were doing would break pipes. 2. Once pipes were "Fixed" they told me the pressure test was "Good", but that was a lie because there were open broken pipes still at this time. Second pressure test: after pipes repaired, twice I asked if the pressure test was done and I was told it was. However, after they laid concreate a large leak was noted and they had to tear up an entire portion of concreate to repair the leak that should have been noted with a pressure test. 3. Promises. I was promised a Ferrari of a pool and instead I got a Pinto. Felix would make promises about his men being on site and they often would not show up. He set times for meetings and Pool School and never showed up. Instead of being professional/accountable he always had an excuse for everything that went wrong. 4. He didn't keep track of the pool's design and contract details. He would ask for what tile color we wanted, what plaster we wanted, he'd forget where certain structures should be...if he thought about it at all. 5. I have found much of the work to be shabby. Grout missing and large cracks through it. Tiles that are uneven, Tiles that are not tacked down completely. Hardware not flush. 6. Plaster- not acid washed completely leaving large streaks of discoloration, Polaris port not replaced and because of this now sticks out of wall about 3-4 inches, plaster in spa not even at spillway. 7. Leak in spa- he said not his responsibility. He only pulled off all the original material from the spa, replaced light, jets, plastered it, tiled it, put coping on it, brick to the outside, but.....not his responsibility. Really??? Guess what? All it needed was 38 cents of tape around the light conduit. 8. Concreate truck broke our walkway. Not fixed. 9. He walked off the job without finishing it. 13 months after starting the actual work. He wanted additional payment, which we refused until he completed the job. We have made all payments according to our contract. He left a large area of deck incomplete with no concreate. I have heard from the men that fixed his many errors that they have had to repair other pools he has done. This is hearsay of course, however, from my experience it sounds about right. I will include pictures as well but there are more."
