Matt, Jodi, and Paul went at our pace with no pressure, helping us determine that we purchased exactly what we wanted. "We just completed our pool with Paul Miller Custom Pools, and we are so happy with our choice! It was a great experience and the communication was top-notch. Some things to think about before you start: • This is a large project. It is not going to happen in a week or even a month. It is a long process and might take 3 months or more. Factor that into your planning. • Your yard is going to be a mess. Unless you have a very large yard, you’re going to lose most or all of your grass. This can be a pain if you have dogs. • It is going to be worth it. That first swim will make all the waiting and dealing with dirt, dust and construction worthwhile. • A couple of things to consider: • We went with a salt filter. There is no chlorine smell and it’s about as salty as a tear drop. I recommend this, but to each their own. • We got a rail for ours. This is helpful if for older swimmers and the kids. • A jumping platform is great for the kids and it is a great compromise versus getting a diving board. • Spotters (pieces of tile to distinguish depth on steps or ledges) are very helpful. We decided on them after visiting a friend’s pool and we could not see the bottom step well and kept stubbing our toes. Plus, they add some flair to it. To go into detail on the project, we worked with Matt and Jay as our project managers. They were good at communicating and very responsive. Matt helped me build the perfect pool for our backyard and one that still left us some yard for the kids and dog. From my first contact with Robin, I was sold. The customer service is excellent. It’s a family-owned business, and they treat you like family. Matt and I worked on the pool design, and came up with our design. We signed our contract at the end of March and had all our permits by end of April. The dig started on May 19. There will be some days, sometimes a week that nothing will happen. But, as you get closer to the end, things happen very quickly. Jay was out our house many times checking on progress and handling any items that needed to be completed. Jay showed me how to use the test kit, so I can better understand what I am doing. Jody was great and really helped us get the right pebble sheen and tile for our pool. We chose blue granite after seeing the way it looked with the lights. Everyone did what they could to get us some swimming in before summer ended. We were able to get in the pool on August 16, and we loved it. It was totally worth it. On that note, we spent a good amount, but what we got for what we spent was an amazing value. We would have spent the same or more for a lesser pool. I say this because the pools look so good that you might think they are out of your price range, but they truly are not. The other aspect about spending large amounts of money is trust. I’ve read too many horror stories of people being ripped off by unscrupulous pool builders. You will sleep well at night knowing you are taken care of. These guys don’t have a 30 year history by accident. The integrity they have is top-notch. If you are looking for a high-quality custom pool, I highly recommend Paul Miller Custom Pools. You will certainly be happy! We sure are!"
