"I had a routine procedure done today. 4 days ago I received a call asking for all of my information. Which I gave. This morning I arrived at the surgical center and at the check in desk was asked the same questions. Then I was given a number. I assume that the number is due to privacy laws. Asked to sit in the waiting room. 5 minutes later a lady came out and called my number. Went back to an alcove in a hallway and again asked some of the same questions. Vitals were taken and I was asked to step into this closet/cubby with a curtain to remove my clothes and out on a design hospital gown.. Then asked to go to the restroom in a public bathroom. Then I was walked from this hallway alcove to cubby in the hospital gown while trying to juggle your belongings and not let everyone see your hindend. So then you get to a 6ft/8ft cubby with a bed and a curtain, a chair and a medical nightstand. Super luxurious. A new nurse starts for the 4th time now asking me the same questions that I've already was asked while she is sitting in the chair next to me. She then tries to start an IV in my wrist. I have explained that IVs and blood draws don't work well in my right arm. She explains this is the arm they want them to use. She explains while she is digging in my wrist that I need to breath. Because fear restricts the blood veins. This isn't fear this is pain. Then another nurse with a computer tries to comes in (3/4s of the way hanging out in the halway) while nurse number one is digging for a vein, number two starts asking me --yet again--- my history and information I have already given 4 times at this point. I'm in pain so I stop answering because I'm trying to breath. Nurse number 1 now decides to try my forearm and while she is digging there #2 begins the questions again. Again I'm not answering because of trying to breath. #1 now blows the vein in my forearm and #2 tells her she'll try. #2 finishes the questing and then goes to my left wrist (while standing to get a good angle) and has to dig a little but secures the IV THIS CRAMPED QUARTERS is horrible for patients and staff. My doctor and anesthesiologist both come in and ask most of the same questions yet again. Now the biggest complaint I have is that this so called "sugerical center" is setup like cattle being moved through to slaughter. This setup is along walls in this large hallway. I felt very uncomfortable and horribly embarrassed. I know both of the gentleman's names, birthdays and other personal information that were on either side of me. When I woke up I was told i needed to get dressed i was done. I was still out of it. I got dressed and was asked if I needed a wheel chair. I said yes cause I was afraid I'd fall down. My husband looked at me and asked if I was okay. Said I looked rough. The drug hadn't even subsided enough for me really to understand what was going on. My husband waited in a waiting room and they took me to him. He didn't even get to see the doctor. I barely remember what she said. Mercy Jefferson this is a horrible setup and I hope this review stimulates others to comment. This is not good service. This is horrible."
