"Darnell Troup is AWFUL!! We went to have an intake appointment to see a different therapist at the office and was directed to him first. He performed a psychiatric evaluation on my 18 year old daughter. This is definitely not what we went there for. He diagnosed her with general anxiety, adhd, pmdd, and bipolar disorder in 45 minutes of him meeting her, and just checking off his little boxes. Also, tried to prescribe her medication. In 45 minutes!! She went there so she could TALK things out with someone. This is horrible practice! You should actually take time to get to know a person, their day to day lives and activities before trying to throw medication and diagnosis down them! 45 minutes of box checking should not warrant all of this! When I went back to ask him to explain himself, he got extremely defensive, sarcastic, and rude that I wanted to know how he came to these conclusions. He has no empathy! An 18 year old high school student with honors classes, 3.8 GPA, applying for colleges, has a social life, and job, is going to have some overwhelming times in her life. So let’s just slap all these diagnoses and throw her on mediations to make things worse! Terrible!! Thank God I am in the medial profession and saw this for what it was. Others may have not been so fortunate and just took his unfounded word for it. He needs to retire already! Stop mis-diagnosis our BLACK KIDS!!! My heart breaks for others who may have actually fell for this. He should be ashamed of himself!! She left there so confused, and didn’t understand what happened. He kept saying “you’re an adult, so decisions are up to you” when I told him she’s not taking that medication. She JUST tuned 18! She is still learning about life and navigating conflicts and decisions. He would make someone’s mental health worse. He should have his license taken!"
