"Wonderful place to learn history that is overlooked in schools. Heritage is a good place to grow roots."
"Friendly volunteers to show you around and answer questions. Two air-conditioned buildings housing a variety of items from the area, and of course Norwegian settlement history. Suggested $5 donation."
"Don't let this small church and associated structures tucked behind a community store fool you. Wonderful collection related to the culture and history of the immigration experience of Norwegian Americans, tracing the spread of this group through LaSalle County to Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota and beyond. The museum staff are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. The museum itself is housed in the first Norwegian church in the area and is on the National Historic Register. Norsk Museum continues to evolve and improve so stop back if you haven't been there in a year or two. Well worth a stop for an hour or two on Saturday or Sunday June through September. Be sure to walk across the parking lot to the Norway Store which carries Scandinavian grocery items and a few souvenier items in addition to the usual corner grocery fare."
"Amazing little heritage museum, chock full of artifacts and endless information from the friendly volunteers. They were so nice and chatted with us at length about the local history, explaining how this town is the first permanent Norwegian settlement in North America. The church itself is a relic of the past, with a newer adjacent building that housed even more artifacts. Furniture, art, clothing, historical objects, trolls, and more. Open June through September."
"Very nice Norwegian cultural heritage museum with an emphasis on the Sloopers who comprised the first documented organized emigration from Norway to America. Many Sloopers eventually settled in this area and many of their descendants remain in the area today. Many of the museums artifacts originated from these first immigrants."
