"It has seen it’s better days. It was locked and doesn’t look like anyone gives tours anymore. Better to drive past and look at it from the river to get a better idea of how it would’ve been back in the day with steamboats and such. If you are in the area, stop by and see a part of American history."

"Long forgotten town holds a sweet little piece of history tucked neatly in the corner. It looks as if all it provides these days is a breathtaking view of both the Ohio & the aging building. The sign(s) on the way down the graveled path is quite meger but it gives the grounds history.Given that, and what remained of the ghosting town I was surprised by the gem this site really is. Very interesting pit stop. It's literally breathtaking the view you'll have from a short Walk around to the buildings front. No rails, watching your step might leave you dizzy here but it's worth the sacrifice. I would be surprised to learn that the cabin was vintage. It just maybe the spotless upkeep of the site has me thrown off?"

"There's not much to see and the courthouse is rarely open. However Dred Scott was held here so that's something. Interesting interpretation/miswording on the sign... if you're in the area, check out the Mound City National Military Cemetery 20 miles down the road."
