The Bethalto Museum, located at 124 West Main Street in Bethalto, Illinois, is a historical institution housed in the original Village Hall. The building, constructed in 1873 and expanded in 1885, is a beautiful example of Victorian/Italianate architecture and is the oldest governmental building still in use in Madison County. Recognized for its historical significance, the Village Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can explore the museum Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a break for lunch from 12 to 1 p.m. The museum is closed on federal holidays.
