"An upper GI scope was performed on my child for a simple esophageal biopsy. The total time of the actual procedure from wheeling her in for gas sedation to wheeling her to recovery waiting area, was no more than 20 minutes. We were in the waiting room before and after for over 4 hours, of just sitting. The main issue is the over $21,000 billed for this 20 minute minimally invasive procedure, and this does not include GI and Anesthesiologist fees. I had the exact same thing performed a few months earlier except I had IV sedation and the total cost was less than $4,000. I am filing a complaint with someone regarding these excessive charges."
