Auto Owners Insurance Schaumburg Claims

"Our camper was hit by a neighbor of ours covered by Auto Owners insurance. Our neighbor submitted photos of the damage to their Auto Owners agent, but those photos were promptly lost internally within the company. Their agents failed to proactively follow up with my communications and after a month passed, when I reached out to them, they claimed ignorance on the whereabouts of the photos that had been submitted a month earlier by their own client, and also stated that the bill of sale for our camper was not proof of ownership. They then refused to FedEx us our check to cover the damages on account of us "failing to submit photos and documentation a month prior." We have to wait 7 to 10 more days for that check to arrive. It's pretty clear that the left hand at Auto Owners is unaware of what the right hand is doing. When I stated that the photos had been submitted by their client a month prior, their agent replied, "It's on you to show proof." This has made things between my neighbor and I a little awkward. Had Auto Owners actually been proactive, internally and with us, this situation could have been closed a month ago, or at the very least, with an expedited check today. None of that happened."
