"I scheduled two appointments, one for electrical and another for plumbing. The electrician did a great job at a very reasonable price. However, the plumbers who came and gave me an "estimate" for two items were unscrupulous. There was a trainee who did most of the talking and provided me with four "alternatives" with firm prices (not estimates) for two issues. 1. My toilet was not cutting off when it was refilling. For starters, I was advised that toilets should be REPLACED EVERY FIVE YEARS. I told them I wouldn't replace my toilet, I just wanted it repaired. 2. My hot water heater needed to be brought up to code by installing copper pipe instead of a brass flex hose that was screwed into PVC pipe without threads, clearly an installation problem from a couple of years ago. When I was presented with a tablet for me to choose which service I wanted done, three of the options included replacing the toilet, which I had clearly indicated I didn't want. The only choice was to repair the toilet and the hot water heater for over $1600.00. I asked why it was so high and the trainee replied that the hot water heater repair would take 3 1/2 hours to repair, let alone the toilet repair. I'm selling my home, so I agreed to that package. The next day, a different plumber arrived to do the work. It took him between 30-45 minutes to repair the hot water heater. It took him longer to repair the toilet because the order had the wrong sized flapper and he had to leave to purchase the correct size. I discussed my dismay briefly with the plumber who did the work, but it's not his fault for the actions of the trainee who did the "estimate." I sent an email to Don Valentine at an address I got online and also reported my dissatisfaction when a customer service representative called as a follow-up. The representative said she would pass the information on to a plumbing supervisor. To date, I've heard NOTHING back. I chose John Moore due to their ad with Don Valentine about honesty, etc. I made a terrible mistake believing that they care."

"Scam. Stay away. The tv commercials are nauseating. They won’t clean your drain for $69. They just come out and give you a quote for $1k+ to fix it. No thanks."

"This may be a good plumbing company and I'm sure Mr. Valentine is a great guy (no personal discredit intended), but their old-school, folksy/boring TV commercials sure don't do much to motivate me to call and engage their services. In fact, quite the opposite. Just saying..."
