"Honestly would give 0 stars, I take in a lost dog to help and can’t find her family on Facebook so I come here and they say they can’t take any dogs and say to go to a rescue. Only thing they did was check for chip. I feel if they were nice about it I would have been fine but they were rude, and treated me like trash. Also this dog was found in Alvin so it’s not found out of y’all’s jurisdiction, she needs a home. When I see a dog in need, I rehabilitate them, help them and if I can’t find its owner, the shelter is the best choice. This shelter is horrible and I don’t recommend."
"Best decision to come here to adopt a cat, we had a hard time picking one because they were all so eager and happy to meet us. Ultimately we made our choice and have not regretted a minute of it. Our girl is so sweet and playful, literally the perfect cat. Thank you guys for raising her for 8 months (she was born in this shelter) I can tell the staff cares for these ani.als because of our little treasure."
"The staff and management of Alvin Animal Adoption Center are top notch! The staff here are all friendly while taking excellent care of their animals. Vet care is provided promptly. Autumn M went above and beyond for us and our pup which made rescuing her a seamless and fun process. Would definitely recommend adopting from this shelter!"
"The supervisor at Alvin Animal Adoption Center is being extremely deceptive and vindictive, in my option. We are a registered foster home for Austin Bulldog rescue. We adopted and also foster. Our EB has lung issues and is not able to be under anesthesia at this time so he is intact. This baby is also not neutered so the battle of being dominant Bulldog was taking place. I, being the responsible rescue, separated and managed to calm each for introduction. I took him to the Alvin Animal Adoption Center in Alvin, TX Tuesday January 14, 2020, night to have him scanned for a chip. I was hoping his family was just at work and would notice him missing once they got home. The man said he would “help” me by taking him until I returned from out of town on Monday. We are leaving Friday morning early so this worked out great. My dad and I were both involved in the conversation with this man. One lady told me I couldn’t “drop him off” because I didn’t live within the city limits or the county for that matter. The man was insistent he would take good care of him for me while we were gone. He was the one that made the suggestion he not post just yet as he did not want to be bombarded with calls and emails from many wanting to adopt this baby. When I got home I found they had posted his picture. I thought they would be able to spread the post to more people than I could although my posts were shared 100’s of times almost 1000. He actually told me he did not want to create a post on social media because he didn’t want them to be bombarded with calls and emails. I showed him the multiple posts I made. He said he would follow those to stay informed of my efforts as well. Wednesday I had everything arranged in the house to have them both here together. This man has changed his story and told me he is now on a 72 hour hold and I needed to get my rescue to send over the hold paperwork and they would not release him to me without it. I never...NEVER surrendered this baby. I am diligently trying to find his family. His supervisor got on the phone and kept asking me “why I needed this dog so bad?” “What are your intentions with this dog?” I was floored! She was extremely condescending and rude while I was trying to talk. She refused to give me a date I could come get him. She then said she was placing a week hold on him instead of the 72 hours. Fine..I agreed to her terms. Immediately I contacted our rescue and had them email the rescue hold and release paperwork. The supervisor sent a response stating another rescue basically beat us to the hold. This woman did this all out of spite and greed. There are so many more inappropriate statements she made leading me to come to the conclusion she has someone that wanted him or personal gain. I made a personal agreement with this man who was an employee with the shelter. I know...I was wrong to trust this guy but I thought who better to help me find his family? I contacted several rescues for help and advice. Not one....Not even one rescue said one nice statement not only about the facility but this supervisor. I took this persons word that he was helping me. I made my intentions very clear. I stated he was NOT a surrender. He called after I got home and said if I found the owners to email him even if it was 2:00 am. The next day my world turned upside down. This guy changed his story and claims we never talked about him just simply helping me as an individual. I’m beyond hurt that there are sick individuals in this world that would put their greed and selfishness over the reuniting a lost soul with his family. Thank you for just reading. What’s done is done on my end but I will fight to bring awareness of my situation."
