"The reason I contacted them was I was looking for Bolton Electric. Allen's had purchased them. I'm glad they were available for an urgent need, but I was billed for 6 man hours inaccurately. 3 max. They acted like union workers. They found the problem & fixed it, but left the wires exposed w/ no cover. Not contacting them again."

"Employees make you ask them their name when you call. You have to call them back, repeatedly. If you don't have A LOT of work for them, they won't bother with you."

"My dryer was making a noise that was a nuisance, but it still worked. I put in a call and Allen’s sent out a very young man, but as long as he could do the job, that didn’t matter to me. Well, he couldn’t do the job. He was clearly a beginner carrying around a nice toolbox. He attempted to dismantle my dryer and had to google every step of the way. He kept looking at the time and said he was off at 5. That made me even all the more nervous. He never did figure out what the noise was and I had a heap of my dryer sitting in my floor. He quickly started re-assembly of parts and kept stating he was off at 5! He was having exceptional difficulty with reassembly too! After he left, I figured I’d go ahead and dry a load of clothes and just ignore the noise best I could. It was clearly not put back together well at all, not wired back correctly, I even saw a silver apparatus at the back inside of the dryer that was facing backward and the control panel was not on correctly. It started making a burning smell and my apartment circuit shorted out and blew. I had no dryer. What was a noise nuisance when they came out was now a completely dead dryer. On top of that, Allen’s keeps sending me bills! I’ve told them this happened, no one called me to apologize, but they keep sending me the bill!!! Seriously! Allen’s you destroyed my dryer! You owe me! You sent an inexperienced person out to practice on my appliance and you want me to pay you? This was a horrible experience and though I’ve used Allen’s before successfully, for them to not even acknowledge what happened and how I’ve complained to them and yet I continue to get bills sent to me, I would warn anyone to be very careful. If I could give negative stars I would. Make sure you have an experienced technician before accepting their service."
