"Food was fine. But service was horrible. Waiting up front to talk to a worker and 2 made eye contact and just walked away. And one of the workers my husband has talked to got attitude both times. People wonder why restaurants aren't having people yet they treat the customers like that. I love steak n shake but wont be going back to that one for sure!"

"Decided to try this Steak N Shake again for the first time in a long time. Ordered two burger meals through the Drive Thru, got home and fries were not crisp at all (taken out early from fryer?), one burger was as it was supposed to be with everything, the other one with everything except pickles was just cheese, burger patty and onions. (But no pickles, so YAY!) Service was friendly but the guy got the cost wrong and the sodas wrong. And food there is no longer cheap, which was a huge reason to go. Needs to be said: Steak N Shake has been beaten to a pulp by their own lazy attitude towards quality and service by better and more nimble competitors: Shake Shack, Freddy's, Culvers and the like. I guess this means goodbye Steak N Shake."

"So here are my issues/concerns. 1, the tables were not being maintained for new customers coming in and floor was a mess. 2, We ordered from the kiosk and our order was still wrong. Take away face to face ordering and still can’t make a order correctly that I personally placed and then expect a tip. 3, Chilli doesn’t come with crackers and the service was very distant that you feel like it was a chore asking for items missing from order and maybe if they have crackers. 4, They even left off whip cream and cherry from the shakes when requested.Steak and Shakes near me have all closed and I’m starting to see why. NO Customer set anymore and it sucks. I refuse to tip before I get my food because great service and a correct order is why I tip and it just feels like McDonald’s here now. It sucks!!!"

"Thank god I know to check the food before I leave! Went to get dinner lastnight ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries and 2 shakes. Nothing super difficult right?? Apparently the employees can't read or just don't care enough to cause BOTH burgers were wrong. I took them back in and the nasty looking guy at the grill asked me what I needed i told him the problem and he just said ok and turned around then as I'm standing there waiting for my food to be redone the manager comes up asking what's wrong i told her then she proceeded to tell me they were out of onion so my burgers weren't gonna be right either way. Ok just give me my money back which she did so no problems there which I am grateful for. But really people theres literally a walmart you could walk to if you run out."
