"Despite Dr. Chen being a great, skilled doctor who really tries to help with pain, the billing department is incredibly difficult to work with. Getting an EOB and/or statement with breakdown of services takes a lot of work. When I finally received this, I discovered I've been billed for services that I did not receive. Many of these charges are coming out of pocket (although I'm sure the insurance company won't be thrilled about the additional charges either.) I've been trying to get an answer from billing for months and they are horrendous at communication. They refuse to answer why I've been charged for these services or to make the adjustment to take these off. I am now in the process of reviewing 3+ years of statements to see what other services I was charged for that I never received. If you go to this outstanding doctor, ask for a breakdown of your services EVERY TIME and check the codes!"

"Dr Chen didn’t cure my pain, I got 3-4 injections with minimal results, I do believe I have piriformis syndrome, I suggested him to treat me with Botox injections, I’ve read are more effective and plasma injections, ultrasound guided. But not he refused. Seems to still using an old fluoroscopy technique, didn’t work for me, by the way I still on pain !"

"The only reason I give top pain a two is that the doctor did a fine job and helped my husband. However, billing has been a complete nightmare. Not only was the billing department rude (2021) but for two years I’ve been trying to get a substantiated bill that shows why their number is different than mine. We’re off by a lot. No one has been able to help me. They say they’ll email me and then six months later, I’ll get another bill. I’ll call someone will be very nice say they’ll help me and six months later I will get a bill. This is been going on for over two years. I can’t even recommend this doctor because of his billing department. And for the record, I rarely write reviews. I just feel so strongly on this one."

"My first time there today. I rate him a one bc I can't choose zero. His attitude lacks empathy. He obviously does not believe in pain. I have severe Fibromyalgia that dominates my body & generates 80% of my pain. He doesn't believe or understands what Fibromyalgia is. I gave him 6 MRI & CT reports & he disregarded my medical history that brought me there. I was Referred by my physician. I expected Dr Chen or Chan to be life changing to my pain. He was awful. I don't know why I was asked to fill out my medical life history if it wasn't discussed. I will not give him one more cent of my insurance money. He's a joke. I should have read & believed the reviews before going there. I will definitely make my review & opinion count to my referring physician & every platform available."

"I was referred to Dr. Chen when another Pain Specialist refused to treat my lower back pain. I found him to a Doctor who listened and asked questions to get a better understanding of your issues and concerns. He explained the treatment plan and in 3 months my back is better than it's been in years. I highly recommend Dr. Chen. His staff is pleasant and responsive as well."
