"I have had excellent care from Dr. Catherine Wheeler for my left knee, pre-knee replacement therapy 10/12/20 - 1/10/21. She was my physical therapist for my total left knee replacement post op from 3/31/21 - 6/4/21. Which was the second knee replacement for this knee. Katie again was my physical therapist from 8/11/22 - 9/1/22 for a plantaris tear left calf. It’s intimidating to go to therapy with a lot of pain after surgery not knowing what’s in store for the healing process. I can’t even put into proper words what Katie has done for me. Her bed side manner, personality, understanding of my physical needs and overall expertise helped me heal. I will forever be grateful to her. Thank you sweet Katie. I would also like to thank Debbie, the glue that holds Athletico together with keeping up with all the patients records, appointments and continues to greet each of us with a smile. She has made changes to accommodate my personal needs without a blink of an eye. She’s the best of the best. My recent experience with Athletico began on 5/5/23. On April 18, I had an inner/outer ear infection that threw off my whole sense of balance, and total loss of hearing in the right ear. During this same timeframe I was going through a severe gastroparesis flare and was so sick with both things. I was pretty beaten down from it all being too much. The doctor said to get Physical Therapy for my ear, meaning balance. We still laugh about this because I had left a message for Debbie to please make an appointment for me for ear therapy. It was funny to us. This is when I met Rich DeCarlo who would be my physical therapist aka doctor is what I called him. He started working with me on 5/5/23. He made a plan of action, tested me with physical things I could or could not do. We worked on many exercises for balance. I was making great progress, gaining strength and confidence when on July 24, I woke up with full blown vertigo. The whole room was spinning. The doctor once again suggested physical therapy but told her I was already in therapy. Rich tried resetting the crystals which wasn’t the problem. The vertigo finally went away after months of therapy and medication. During this whole time I had many questions, saw 4 different doctors who worked with me to see what the initial cause of the sudden onset of both inner and outer ear infections, along with hearing loss. It was exhausting going through test after test. Rich DeCarlo knew more than my doctors at this point. Hands down I trust this man with my life, and I did. I trusted his knowledge and I did heal. I regained my hearing, strength and most of all I was myself again. His personality is so funny and makes us patients laugh through our pain. But it’s his serious dedication, so much knowledge, for me and all his patients that helped get us where we needed to be. Thank you Athletico staff for making me feel comfortable. So comfortable I eventually felt like a stock holder. I did recommend 3 of my neighbors to you and they did choose physical therapy from you. Please give them all substantial raises. Thank you. On 12/5/23 I graduated with honors. But then there’s this right hip that needs to be replaced…. TO BE CONTINUED."
