"SI Orthopedic Clinic replaced both of my knees as well as both my hips. I have had no problems because of the work they did. My pain was basically when I left the hospital. That was 2 y"
"It is impossible to get an appt set with the orthopedic Institute in Herrin. Each time you go, it takes hours to be seen. I had an mri in Sept and called multiple times to reschedule (due to work) it takes hours for anyone to answer. When I finally got ahold of someone, she said the wait time is bad, but better than before, it would take 2-3 hrs she said. That's absolutely ridiculous. You can never get anyone to answer. I've been in unimaginable pain but know I can never get through. I had an mri in Sept and now my appt is in December. While in the waiting room it takes hours to be seen by anyone, I don't have that kind of time or I have to take off of work and miss a full days of work for 1 appt. I've asked multiple times for mri results (that I paid for) with absolutely no response what so ever"
"The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the staff were all nice. The wait time to get an appointment is ridiculous, and then once you actually get the appointment, you have to wait more. I've been in severe pain for months. The doctor came in, spent perhaps 3 minutes in the room, did a brief exam and left. He ordered an injection for me, which isn't for 3 more weeks. He didn't ask if I had any questions, or offer any immediate help. I am disgusted and if there were another ortho doctor nearby, I would go there and never come here again!"
"Sat on hold for over and hour to find out their office did not get referral. Had to call my doctor's office again- they said it was sent. Called and sat on hold for 1.43 hours to get an appointment. Got an appointment for a month out. Today, they called and had to cancel the appointment because the doctor needed to leave town! " But you can see the PA, but you will need to see the doctor to get surgery set up!" What is the point in seeing PA? Similar situation for husband and his knee surgery- We decided to go to St. Louis and got into the doctor, got an MRI and had surgery in the time it took to get 1 appointment at orthopedic- no hold times on the phone. Southern Illinois can do better than this..."
"Would only recommend Dr. Young’s office if you want multiple failed procedures, multiple years of your life wasted, and to not even be treated like an actual human being who has a life in chronic pain. Should have known after my first surgery when I had to go to the ER my post-opp night, almost lost my hand due to casting being put on too tight. I never even had issues with my elbow until my second procedure with him, now I have bad cubital tunnel syndrome that makes my ring & pinky finger go numb DAILY for HOURS. Never returning to that place again. Staff are liars, only tell you 1/10 the truth, & take no responsibility for their actions. Also can barley speak to one of his staff without being interrupted every time. Paperwork they made for my lawyer had my first name spelled wrong & the date of my procedure wrong. And this is after years of being their “patient”. Very careless with their patients & treated me like I was nothing. Like I said, I would only recommend if you want multiple surgical procedures failed and multiple years of your life wasted."
