"3 hours in the waiting room it’s an ER not a doctors office. Sitting in triage have multiple panic attacks and severe back pain had to end up going to Carbondale. Would have had a better experience at a walk in clinic at least they would checked the inflammation that was found. A girl that came in after me with a yeast infection got treated before I did. Everyone that was in the room was taken care of and brought back. Then a lady had the nerve to ask me why I’m leaving as I’m being wheeled out crying in pain telling her I’m done waiting I’ve been there 3 hours.@Tina F"

"I just want to say that these amazing women and men work so hard and still made me feel like my health was number one. The registration staff, ER nurses, PAs, techs, docs, and housekeepers, we're extremely professional, kind and attentive. Then the 1st floor hospital staff were some of the best and most caring and wonderful healthcare workers and people in general I've ever had the pleasure of being cared for by. Honestly everyone was so amazing. The culinary staff, the housekeeping, case managers, the techs, the nurses, PAs, and doctors. My nurse Brittany really kepty spirits up and made me feel like I wasn't alone. Dr. Gray was so thorough and kind. The tech who took blood every morning was funny and was careful to make sure it never hurt. Thank you . This just naming a few but thank you so much to all of you. You Made what was a dark time feel hopeful, healing and not so lonely."

"My 77 year old mom has been here for 5 days and I must say the staff here is outstanding. From dietary to Rn and absolutely everyone in between.. good people make it as easy as it is possible during a trying time. Great job SIH."

"I would like to commend your Patient Care Staff Taylor who took care of my brother Alexis in Rm 281-1 (Feb 10, 2023 ) She showed great compassion and attention not only to my brother but also to me and my sister while we were visiting . She went over and beyond her line of duty by asking us if we needed anything (food, water). She exhibited utmost professionalism in her work as she catered to my brother’s needs. I applaud whoever was in charge of her training but I know that the dedication Taylor gave came from her heart. She is such a sweet, wonderful person. and is an asset to Herrin Hospital."

"ER was okay, but nothing special. 2nd Floor Med/Surg was bad. Constantly being told that certain doctors would be by within the hour and 2 days later still hadn't seen them. Charge Nurse calls me on Friday at 4pm and says my mom is being discharged and sent to a rehab facility, on Sunday I call the facility and she isn't there!! They never called and told me that she wasn't discharged after all.!!"
