"Disappointed. I signed my daughter up online for private swim lessons. I called 2 times to ask a general question, left 2 messages and never got a call back. We went to the lesson, her instructor never introduced herself, never bothered to ask my daughter her name. My child is 4. Thank goodness she doesn’t have fear of the water bc the teacher was less than welcoming. She didn’t seem like she wanted to even be working there. At the price it costs for private lessons this is unacceptable. I would have appreciated her to come at least tell the parent SOMETHING , anything after the lesson is over. Nothing . As a former teacher and lifeguard myself I really hope their instructors can get some training on making children and parents feel welcomed."

"The thing to understand about MARS is that this is a pre-team company, similar to select sports. It's not a REC level environment. Just like you may pay for softball, and then your child sits out - you may pay for time that the pool is closed. You'll be asked to fundraise, and volunteer if your child is on the team. If you treat MARS year-round program like you do the summer limited swim lessons, you'll be frustrated like other reviews I have read. If you understand the world of select sports and coach/athlete/parent relationships, you'll see the benefits and opportunities in the company."

"Two of my children swam with Mars for years. Generally I felt like it was a good program. When covid hit I continued to pay full tuition, even though my child was not able to participate in swimming. I wanted to support the club as much as possible. When I had to cancel my child’s membership because I am no longer able to afford it. (Covid is awful and has wrecked this economy) Mars charged me the full $300 for volunteer hours that I was not even able to completed DUE TO COVID. I understand policies, but I also understand humanity and grace. I unfortunately cannot recommend this program to any parent looking for a swim club for their child. It saddens me that Mars has put money over people. I fully intended to re enroll my child when I was in a better place financially. Now I will look for another club. So sad."

"During COVID, they shut down operations entirely from March to May and charged full tuition during this time, which I expected- and even understood (they have staff to pay too). What I did not expect, is they charged FULL VOLUNTEER HOURS FEES during this time!! A completely unnecessary added fee that is impossible to complete during a nationwide shut down. Almost a $300 EXTRA charge in top of their tuition for “not volunteering for MARS” during a time when they did not offer their service, but still expect you to pay for it and more. After asking for help and explanation on this policy, I was told I “should have thought about this in January”, and that they “might allow a payment plan”. I understand policy during normal times, but think they are taking advantage of families during this unprecedented time. Very unhappy with this and this family oriented organization."
